--Archaeus-- Of the Stars Above
Chapter 6 - Revelation
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
What seemed like an eternity waiting, was only three days in reality. Arguably every person on the planet was watching the skies for the past few days, waiting in complete silence and patience as those ships circled our planet. Nobody knew what to think. A lot of people went into hiding, a lot committed suicide. These things were causing death and mayhem before they even started what it is they were planning on doing.
After three, apparent long days of waiting, these things finally ticked. From a satellite image, we could see, on our televisions, these ships begin to form a giant electrical field around us. This field originated from one, giant ship located somewhere among the cluster, and shot out to every other smaller vessel in the fleet, each one that received this field would direct it to another ship
until the earth was completely surrounded by this field. We were trapped.
Everything inside of this field in terms of technology, such as vehicles, computers, GPS, everything of that nature were no longer functional. After the field was created, every ship in the fleet let out a very loud humming noise, similar to the one made by the ship I saw. There were so many of those machines, that this noise that produced was loud enough to break almost every fragile object on the surface into a million pieces. It even made some people lose their hearing. The force of the sudden releasing of these sounds even made some satellites in space get pushed further into the earths lower atmospheres, causing them to come crashing down.
Soon after the sound stopped... IT started. The end. Everybody who was still left standing by this point stared into the sky, waiting for what will surely come next, when the inevitable end finally reared it's ugly head.
In the flash of an instant, every single one of the ships orbiting us removed the electrical field from one another, and with a quick and powerful burst of their thrusters, came soaring down to the planet. The last thing most of us even saw that day was all of the ships closing in on the planet vertically, as if they were going to pierce the earth with their sharp tips.
All of the machines shot down into the earth with their bottoms going first, with the speed faster than sound, and they began spinning rapidly once contact with the ground was made. Two of them even landed near my house! As they spun, the bottom half of the ship opened up on all sides and began spinning counterclockwise, faster than I had ever seen anything spin before. They began drilling into the crust of the earth! The militaries of the world were dispatched to try and destroy or halt these beasts from desecrating our beautiful planet, but they just kept drilling, ignoring the thousands of pounds of artillery being shelled into them.
The ground shook around our feet as relentlessly as it did when there was just one doing the shaking. Now, now matter where you were on the planet, you felt it. The shaking. But this time, you knew what was happening to cause it.
As my wife and I drove through the city trying to find a safe place to go, which was a foolish act in the first place, as no place was safe, we heard the helpless screams of everybody running around on the streets, who were also trying to hide. It was unbearable to watch. I couldn't bring myself to believe what was happening. I knew I had to, but I refused. I never expected this to happen. Could my grandfather have? Did these things do something in his presence to allude to a possible invasion? Was this even what he himself was alluding to? All of these questions rained on me like a summer maelstrom in Hawaii, and they were quite too much a burden to handle.
My wife and I were just about to leave the city to escape to a remote place, when all of a sudden, we felt a large jerk in our car that shot us off to the side of the road, causing us to spin out. When we looked back to see what it was, that's when we knew we were done for. We saw it, there on the road, an ever-widening gap separating the earth in two. It was a crack, as deep and as dark as the 9th Circle of Hell. It was mortifying to look at. The earth is cracking open beneath our own feet, and by this point in the invasion, all hope seems to be lost.
