Before I get started, I want to say that past recruitment from this site has been great, with the help of talent we picked up here Installation 01 has gone from a concept build in [url=http://i.imgur.com/OfTKTVr.jpg]July 2014[/url] to the sexyness you see up above. We’ve been delayed by massive reworkings of the game itself for greater stability and modularity, critical elements in a community-oriented game. Being a fan team, we can’t make any money, not even from donations, so we are doing this in our spare time. Professionals, students, and passionate Halo fans coming together with whatever free hours they have. We are making something that we’ve craved for a long time, a full Halo game for PC, Linux, and Mac, boasting classic gameplay and game modes from multiple Halo titles, all bundled into a shiny package of modern graphics.
[u]Positions we need filled so this project moves faster:[/u]
[b]Programmers:[/b]
• Proficient in C#.
• Unity or other comparable game experience.
• Capable of using Github.
• Willingness to communicate well with our senior engineers.
• A team player.
[b]Artists: [/b]
-2D-
• Knowledge of GIMP, Photoshop, or any other comparable 2D graphics program. Largely needed for UI and texture work.
• Willing to work on assigned projects within their deadlines. (we aren’t super hardcore about this,
but this is more about not signing up for anything you know you can’t finish on time).
• Knowledge of 3D modeling is a plus, but not required.
-3D-
• Skills with any widely used 3D modeling software, such as Blender, Max, or Maya. Zbrush is also • welcomed.
• Work within deadlines (once again, we don’t have a lot of deadlines, just know your limits)
• Be comfortable with assigned tasks from senior modelers.
• Doesn't matter if you prefer environmental, structural, or organic modeling, we need you. ;)
• Knowing how to texture models well is a plus, but is not required.
Animators also needed!
[b]Sound and recording:[/b]
• Own/have constant access to professional sound equipment and software.
• Have experience with sound design for games or professional videos.
• Willingness to adapt to whatever is needed at the moment. (voice, gun shots, birdsong, etc.)

First off, I just want to say that this is awesome. It's visually pleasing, and I can tell you're dedicated. Over the years I've been debating what career to go in to, and as I get closer to graduating, I'm feeling pulled towards game design again. I just wanted to encourage you, and let you know that you're an inspiration to people like me. Keep doing what you're doing man.

Hey there, just found this project today. I'm a sound design student working on games for the last three years. I'm interested in this project but I was wondering if you could answer a question first. What sort of time frame are you looking at to produce this title? Wondering what the anticipated launch date might be.

So I can try coming along for 3D modeling (blender). While I've got not much experience I've been working to improve. For me it's difficult to find myself to practice without real motivation, so an actual project like this would give me that. Unlike all y'all I'm not in college or work right now, so I could really put the hammer down on myself if need be.

Advice: I see you're using Max, switch to GMax much more reliable. While NWGMax is more preferable but tends to crash more. Max and GMax are both becoming extinct but GMax is at least less riddled with bugs and more riddled with customization. Also why are you using so many different programs ;) C# [i]and[/i] Unity? Why not just one of the other? Same with your editing software, all you should need (graphically: GMax, PhotoShop, Gimp (2.8 is perfect imo), Zbrush. That's all you need, too many programs regardless of file type WILL cause longer load times, it's just been proven :) If you need any other tips feel free to ask, I'm more than willing to help with tips and random questions you may ask (worked in modeling for far too many years, including side Mod work for KotOR RoR (a total conversion mod) so I understand the legal processes of porting and free work far too well) Anyway, best of luck! Btw: As tempting as it is to use .wav for your videos, don't. Causes far too many issues with loading and screen resolution commonly.
