While most are under the impression that each guardian is picked by a ghost randomly, this is simply not so. If this were the case as theorized By the majority of the warlocks, why wouldn't we have heard from guardians who died outside of the astroid belt during The collapse? Very few Guardians ever attain memory of anything that happened beforehand, yet ghosts seem to have insurmountable knowledge concerning every subject pre and post collapse. An exo friend of mind, (recently deceased) delved deep into the minds of dead ghosts' memory cores. And there he said was the first time he ever cried. Inside of the first one he sampled, expecting little, he dared to peep into the darkest depths of the ghosts memory core. a highly taboo subject. However it seems he might have activated something by removing the light energy core that formerly powered it. The harsh blinding light illuminated the room, and the hologram projection stood out in front of him. It was a screen displaying the life of the ghost through its own eyes. There he saw many wonders, chaos and destruction of the collapse, The atrocities that the fallen committed to the young innocent humans that actually survived. He saw the death of the traveler he saw the fall of Eris morn, The war minds and Jupiter. But what perturbed him most was the way the ghost display the memories of its Guardian. While the recently revived guardian had little to no memory, The ghost seemed to recognize him in a more intimate fashion. The ghost had its own name, and it even gave the Guardian something to call himself buy. All the while he was seeing these haunting images of the past the light in the room faded to a sad blueish hue. That was when he started hearing the thoughts of the ghost. While the ghost was talking to the Guardian it had recently introduced itself to, its CPU activity went through the roof. The following is a text log of the ghost's thoughts.
" why doesn't he remember me? James don't you recognize my voice? The Traveler said that you would remember everything that would be just like the old times... Well I guess it has been about 100 years or so, I suspect your brains memory center has probably degraded overtime. This reminds me of the time you forgot my birthday when we were little. Except this time, it's a little more painful for me. The traveler told us to not reveal our identities unless it was absolutely vital. He said it might cause you undue grief. There's been reports of some ghost actually leaving their guardians, but I still remember the vows we took that day, through sickness and in health, tell eternal death do us part at this time is no real kiss me this time is there? The sunset here reminds me of our sunset, when we go see every day after a long patrol. I'm still here for you even if you have forgotten me." - end log
As you can see, ghosts obviously have some memory of life pre-collapse . I know not why the traveler chose these souls for us guardians, but as my ghost has long been dead it leads me to wonder who he was in my past life. I Suppose his Voice was always full of fatherly affection. I question what this means. my conjecture is that ghosts, chose us for a reason. They were people at one point, who loved us.

Fantastic work, I very much enjoyed reading that. Thought I was reading a grimoire card for a while there.
