This is Triple Threat Match between 3 very good weapons.
In one corner, we have Fatebringer, who is arguably still the reigning champ (best primary in PvE). With it having ER, Outlaw, arc Damage, and being the only HC to get Firefly, many people are grinding their asses off to get it, and those who have it are wrecking with it, especially in an Arc nightfall. Unfortunately, its only capped at 300 max damage, so that turns a lot of people off from it now since the current max is 331. Even then, this weapon is still arguably the best primary in the game.
In another corner, we have Fang of Ir Yût. Often called "VoC 2.0", Fang has earned its spot in many Guardian's heart as the primary of choice. With it sporting Field scout, 331 max damage, extra damage to Hive Majors, Arc, and a choice between spray & play or Target Mark, Fang has been said to dethrone the almighty Fatebringer. But is this true?
In the final corner, we have the almighty Oversoul Edict. Coming off a big increase in damage to pulse rifles, Edict has become a very popular choice for a primary, not only in PvE, but in PvP as well. Sporting Full Auto, 331 max damage, Field Scout, extra damage to Hive Majors, and the ability to shoot thru the knights wall of Darkness, Edict is VERY quickly becoming loved my many guardians. But how does it stand up next to Fang and Fatebringer?
So, who wins the battle, Guardians?

Fate>Fang>OE

I mean I have fang but I dont really use it
-
Fatebringer isn't the best primary for pve
-
Edict just because it rips through the Knights shields.

Edited by PedalOnTheRight: 3/26/2015 9:07:24 PMI used all three this week and last week ( and Nechro but not going there - rude gestures were more effective ) Really tough call tbh especially since Fatebringer is actually the newest of the three for me and having a fantastic time with it OE was fantastic on mobs and knights that try to hide behind the wall of darkness, ripped omingul's shield off, good precision damage at distance. Fatebringer is so much fun to use - 300 does not reflect an accurate picture of the damage done with this thing, especially on mobs and close-mid range Fang is great in it's own way - I typically prefer scouts but have gone more to HC lately and OE is winning me over to pulse. Nice shooting scout, great ammo capacity, handling, range - no downside other than against hive it doesn't shoot through wall of darkness Bottom line: OE (especially against hive) Toss up between Fang and Fatebringer with a nod to Fatebringer for the fun factor Truth be told I switched a lot between the last 2 weeks of 6x nightfall 6x weekly: With OE for primary, Song of Ir Yut for heavy, and any arc sniper, we went faster/easier than any other combo we came up with - I even did a run with Fatebringer/Thunderlord (my personal favorite gun) and kept getting stuck in the hide/seek with the knights Nice thing about knights throwing up a wall is they stop shooting - it's like they are standing there for a free kill when you have weapons that shoot right through it with no waiting games, usually the shield is still floating there and the knight is already in chunks

Fang, harder to obtain

Edited by Avarice: 3/26/2015 8:50:13 PMThis is an unfair poll (even though it's not an actual pole) because they are different weapon classes were one excels the others fall short. The fatebringer had the best perk role, highest impact and the outlaw perk gives it amazing reload time, sadly it's 300 though this puts it at a disadvantage. The fang has not the best perks but a good all around stat setup. Finally the oversoul edict, it's really not that bad after the buff it has good fire rate and can shoot through hive knight's shield but has low impact so shoot for the head. In my opinion fate bringer is best because of the perk role being far better than that of the other two

Fatebringer would need a bigger buff to damage for me to consider it on par with the other two. Oversoul Edict? Very useful for the arc damage nightfalls, same to Fang. Honestly... It's a tie between Oversoul and Fang for me.

Maxed Fang 3055 dps critical hits in nightfall and weekly, combined with 27 round clips, wow!

Fatebringer.. Edict is OK... Not bad in PvP but have never once thought to use it in pve.. Don't have the other one

Poor old Praeydth's Timepiece Always forgotten...

I feel most comfortable with the fang. The clip size, third eye and reload perk make it feel somewhat similar to the MIDA which I also enjoy. Its nice to be able to continuously ADS without working about reloads or radar.

Fate bringer for packs of tightly grouped baddies or just for anyone who prefers hand cannons. Fang for any single target DPs or anything ranged. Can't comment on Edict, I don't have it. Fate bringer is good, but highly hyped and over rated. Other than the arc damage, Saterienne Rapier is probably better.

Fatebringer it's an exotic weapon

That's tough, as it depends on the situaish. I'd say the Fang is the most versatile of the three. I love that Firefly perk though, so hard to resist Fatebringer when you know mobs are going to be everywhere. I only use Oversoul when I know there will be multiple Knights to contend with. Kind of a non-answer. Sorry.
