I have this nagging question that has my product issue radar pinging off the chart. This is in regards to requiring PS Plus for use of a good majority of content for use on the PS4. I bring this up as a problem. I am a recent convert from the PS3 to the PS4 and enjoyed the content available to me when I had started on the PS3. Now that I have switched over to the next gen Sony console, I have been locked out of all of that content that I so enjoyed on the last gen machine.
Now this comes as an interesting little common sense item. If I had bought a computer game, then upgraded my machine and bought the same computer game for the new machine, the content would be the same. Now, I do not know if this is your design or what is required by Sony, but what seems to be is that I did not buy the same product. Apparently, it looks the same, plays the same, has my same characters, but does not include the same accessible content that I had with previous product.
I have some ideas on solutions to the problem mentioned above.
A - You could force PS Plus on both the PS3 and PS4. This would create cohesion between both consoles regarding said content(Raids, Strike, Crucible and so forth). This would also create a drop in player usage on the PS3, since users currently have access to all content. But this would also bind the two consoles, and the product sold on each as having the same user requirements.
B - Remove the requirement of PS Plus on PS4. This would also create cohesion between both consoles. Now, This could create more users in the space since the "pay-to-play" content is now only limited to the purchase of the product and not an add-on subscription service. This would also decrease the complaints and possible issues when players transition from PS3 to PS4. As a note, this would possibly decrease the amount of people purchasing PS Plus since it would not be required for thsi content.
