I like to reuse some of my old threads from time to time, either updating them, bumping them if they become relevant again, or even for recycling the same thread for hosting game nights and other such things. But now it appears threads automatically lock after a couple months of inactivity which I can understand the logic behind, but at the same time has me bummed out. I assume this was done to combat against people that spam a bunch of old threads, but I feel you should just ban those people instead of doing away with all of our threads.
I guess there is no going back now, but I would like to know if there is a way to revive a locked thread or if they are permanently frozen.

The system is similar to the way it worked in the old site. In the old site, if a thread became inactive (no posts/comment for 2 weeks) then it auto archived itself. Archived threads now (jus enabled in the past couple weeks) have a 60 day time limit for public threads. Some of the main forums are less than that, I'd have to check for specifics. You can still comment in the threads, it just doesn't bump the thread tot he top of the latest tab, because they're over 2 months old at that point. If you want to revive some old topics, I would suggest creating a new thread with the information you wish to include.
