This may be old news (although I couldn't find this strat anywhere else), but a friend and I were two-manning Deathsinger last night and developed a new strategy to speed things up that worked very, very well.
We all know the basic strategy - someone draw the wizard out while the rest of the group heads up to the towers. Kill the wizard then have someone run in to take out the shrieker. That took the two of us too much time, so we figured...why not bypass the whole 'draw the wizard out part'?
Note: This was done on NORMAL mode with a lvl 32 (Gjallarhorn user) and 31 (Hunger of Crota user).
As normal, we ran outside and up the steps but instead of one of us going to the tower, we both went inside the room. As soon as the wizard came through the shield I hit her with two Gjallarhorn shots - wizard down. When the shrieker popped open my buddy fired a Hunger of Crota into it and it either downed the shrieker instantly or a couple rounds from my primary (which I had switched to) finished it off. Run to the other side, rinse and repeat.
Total time to take down both wizard and shrieker once entering the room? Maybe out 5 seconds...which leaves a crazy amount of time to take down Ir Yût. Edit: We used the extra time to clear mobs before the liturgy started.
We did it a few times and were able to time it so we were in and out, both down, before knights were on us. My buddy (warlock) would sometimes drop a grenade at the door on the left side when we went in just to assure we had a little more time as that's where most the mobs are.
I would assume this could be retrofitted for hard mode as well.
Anyway, just wanted to share. It's quick, clean, and efficient.

Hmm. Interesting. Thanks for sharing.
-
I solo it kind of that way. Go to the left and rocket the wizard and shrieker all in one take. Then go to the other side and draw the wizard out.
-
One player runs in each side. Shoots rockets at wizard as soon as it comes through door. Reloads. Shoots shrieker. Both run out to escape shrieker blast. Both run in left side and destroy Deathsinger.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Been doing this for awhile now in our clan. Especially on hard mode
-
That's basically how I run it solo on normal, I can't believe I never considered similar ideas hard mode. Thanks for the light bulb. ( '-')b

Interesting, may have to try this. The only concern would be the death blast. Our usually 2 man method is: 1. I go right, draw her out,Teammate is in right tower. 2. Snipe & rocket, she dies 3. Go to left tower, I draw her out, we kill. 4. I kill left shrieker while he provides cover fire. 5. Back to the right, same thing. 6. Pick off ads, wait on Death Singer to pick a spot to catch fire, then we down her. Might not be the best method out there, but works for us. This way, we can do it with 2 or 3. If we have 4+ then we do both wizards & shriekers at the same time.
-
It works for Normal, yeh. But, on Hard the adds are too powerful until we get to 33/34 with HoW DLC
-
Been doing this since the aggro patch... much faster and efficient
-
Throw nukes don't die that's the strategy
-
Or u could wait until she starts her liturgy and puts her hands in the air like she's " raising the roof" and doesn't hit you in the face with her shots. You have 30 secs to kill her which is plenty of time for a ghorn or hunger user to kill her even on hard. No benefit to get into that room any faster. Just take out both wizards and shriekers stack up on left side ( if your in the towers facing the room) and pick off he adds until she starts the liturgy
-
All I do is go in, fire three Gjallarhorns at the wizard and one at the shrieked, and get out, I can solo it, I normally bring one person in the room with me and send four to the other side, and I'm still always done first and find myself doing the other side, you just explained the most obvious but overlooked strategy.
-
Easy enough to solo her with a Black Hammer
-
If you have 3 people with abyss defiant you can just stun and kill her with that as she leaves then rocket the shrieker. Using this method we killed the death singer before she started her song with 3 people. It was on normal and we were all 32.
-
Try doing this on hard. Then I will congratulate you.
-
Hehehe, not on hard
-
I do the normal strategy but tell people to wait till she starts her liturgy because while she's doing it, she's stationary and you get a significant damage buff agaunst her.
-
The shrieker blast too unpredictable for that strategy if both of you are in there both of you could get killed from it.
-
I guess this makes sense, but I basically thought the wizard were pulled out so you don't have to use heavy ammo.
-
And to think, if 6 people did this, 3 on each side, and then you kept up with the rockets on DS, wouldn't that be super quick?
-
Been doing this for a long time. It's how I solo it.
-
Have doe your method with great time left.. we then go to tower and kill the 2 outter knights on left along with alcos.. drop a hs14 bubble behind you by knight door.. just enough time to do it in hard as well.. gg

Edited by moobz: 3/13/2015 12:29:33 PMThis pretty much what i do every week with a friend, although we both spit, one to the right , one to the left and take out the wizards before they even leave the room. We then pop the shirekers and retreat to middle of the map where crota stands to avoid the shriker blast. Once the blast disappears we check where the mob of knights and acolytes is concentrated and run the opposite direction. From there all hell breaks lose on Ir Yut, Gally, Hunger, Blackhammer, Icebreaker until she is dead.

I fire on the wizard as soon as it passes the barrier. Shoot shriekers. Done.

Thanks for the tip! Do you think maybe next time you can post a video in the near future?
