You did not. I just didn't come here to argue. As for the Assault Rifle, the weapon appears to mostly be made out of the same materials. The color change is on the rifle grip and trigger-hand-area. Otherwise the metal shroud is still shiny and metallic. As for the DMR, no known explanation. Having played the Beta, I'll tell you there is an ammo counter in the scope.
