Hey fellow Destiny gamers/addicts, Before I start if like to say that this is not another I quit Destiny rant/ Destiny sucks forum. It's a I'm getting pretty tired of Destiny but still play it type of forum.
I've been playing Destiny for quite some time now and I have been hooked since I started. I've always been a Call of Duty player (every single Cod except the last one.. In my opinion it is shiiithouse) I'm at the stage where I'm trying to find a good reason to keep playing apart from the reason of maxing my Grimore...
I really just want to find out from the community what is keeping you guys hooked? I still do all my nightfalls/weekly's, both raids and try to help others that don't have much experience to do them.
Apart from the above and my recent love for the crucible I find myself lacking a reason to keep playing.
If anyone else is in the same box please let me know :) or if anyone feels differently about it please share. hate and flame is always welcome and so are the grammar police (you guys are top notch and help us lower class guardians heaps :)
EDIT: bumped my own post (I hate it when people do this... Meh)
EDIT 2: Thanks to everyone sharing their opinions, I'm glad yet very unhappy to see that there are a lot of people in the same shoes as me but we will be back to full on mo fo grinding when HoW drops.
EDIT 3: Thanks for all the feedback guys, I'll try get back to all of you as soon as I can. It seems like there is a large portion of the community that feels the same but just remember HoW is only a couple of months away. Keep the feedback coming peeps.

that's exactly where i'm at. I have gotten all of the exotic weapons. I still play all the raids all three times for fun. I would play them more if they removed the weekly restrictions they have now and just made things to where they could be farmed for small chances at loot instead of just once a week. I also just play the crucible now.
-
Hmmm finally beat hard crota a few times so I've done it all now, need a gally and a crux and that's it for exotics. Still need a couple guns like the word but Yeh I feel same way too. Good thing I'm off to Europe for 5 weeks now, by the time I return how should be close to dropping and my enthusiasm will have been given a shot in the arm
-
I was honestly thinking along the same lines you are. Then my sister and her husband started playing. Along with their daughter, my wife's niece and her fiance, they managed to get me excited to play again. Hearing them get excited over legendary gear, energies and shards had me reevaluate Destiny and play it for what it is, not what I had hoped it to be. Sure, it's repetative, and sure most of the drops I get either are broken down or vaulted, but playing with family and friends makes Bungie 's game something I am proud to say I play. I don't know if that helps you guardian, I hope it does, I hope it does.

I feel ya....I'm just waiting on Bloodborne to consume me until HoW
-
Edited by INFAM0US9188: 3/12/2015 3:32:38 AMI haven't played in a lil while, taking a break on some other games right now. Just grinding and getting crap rewards for awhile made me put on the brakes, but I'll start again soon when it'll feel newer again
-
I got the same way as well, so I took a 2-3 week break and now it feels like day 1 again
-
Try to collect all exotics and get your grimore... Thats the only reason im playing
-
Just take a break bruh. Max out your marks and get your reps close to levelling and then just come back for HoW. Nothing wrong with taking a break!
-
Same. I've completely looted both raids and have every exotic. Now I just do the night falls and HM CrE (higher intellect armor hunt) and that's it. Whenever I do get on I do bounties in hopes that I get faction shaders and ships as I level them up.

Play dying light until HOW
-
I'm right there with you. I was trying to get a Ghorn but have long accepted the fact that it shall never be mine... At this point, I'm just stocking up on Radiant material for HOW. Other than that, I'm starting to get pretty bored...
-
Sounds like another one of those in quitting rants
-
Same here. Three max level characters, over 250 radiant shards, and I could give 2 crops about grimoire. All the grimoire I've gotten has come from playing naturally and Im plenty experienced with end game content. I feel like I'm just pulling through the motions now it's getting rough to keep playing it really is.
-
Quit the game. I did. I'm only here because I'm bored as -blam!- and wanted to see if anyone is still playing this crap. I guess there is. Oh well. Bye!
-
Dude without a doubt take a break for a while. It's easy to get caught in a cycle of "well I always play this" but trust me, it's a good move. Even if you just shut down an hour early one night and spend the time watching a stream of another game, the time away will rejuvenate you. I do this because I love the game, and I don't want to get burnt out on it. Works quite well for me.

Edited by DoomPriestK: 3/12/2015 12:32:48 AMOK here goes... Do you remember when WOW came out? it set the template for most, if not all modern day MMO's. I played it to death myself then quit as soon as I realized it was "go to new area, kill same monsters 100 times with slightly different color skins, progress to next area". I suddenly asked myself why on earth I spent 2 years regurgitating the same tasks, even PvP was largely boring. The biggest gripe I had though, was the vast expansions they released, only to be followed by a torrent of "this is bugged to crap" posts on the WOW forums, to the point where they were still fixing Burning Crusade stuff while Wrath of the Lich King was in full swing. Now lets take Destiny: - it's fresh to the market and the first FPS MMO that I'm aware of. - it's a 10 year plan, which we are barely a year into. - the content which has been released (apart from Crota on Hard I'll grant you) has been largely bug free (I mean the sort of bugs that make you want to throw your computer out the window). - it takes the best of Halo multiplayer (which is the only thing that even interested me on Halo, never liked the story but that's personal preference) and allows you to play it when you want. Now as it stands they have pushed HoW until May, that's fine as long as they don't push their entire schedule to match, they should be releasing HoW then the next expansion within 2 months to keep in line with the original release schedule, I imagine they largely have the next expansion worked on anyways as they had an original schedule which didn't foresee a delay with HoW, plus it will keep everyone interested for longer. If it were me, I would have kept Iron Banner and the Queens stuff there permanently, then created 2 more "only every so often" events, it would have given everyone more to do and give some more life to the game. There needs to be more reason to play different modes, start making rare mats drop in crucible for crafting things, add things to craft like ships, speeders, I would even add a medium storage room to ships, so you can put old raid gear inside display cases so your not just deleting them, they can go on show. Just give people more to do in general. However, as I said before, 10 year plan, barely a year in. Give them chance, I would rather this game progress bug free with a few stalls than release 100 expansions and be fixing 40 of them simultaneously. You could have a break, ill be playing Witcher 3, Planetside 2 and a few others. Destiny will always be my primary game, because it trumps the sheer immaturity and poor coding of COD, it also trumps Battlefield I'm sad to say as I believe Hardline was a massive cash-in using BF4's core. All they did was slap new skins on everything and tweak the modes, boring and disappointing as I used to hold Battlefield in the highest regard! played it since BF2 through BF2142, Bad Company, BF3 and BF4. Taking a break can work, but try to see the big picture, it'll either be big and buggy, or slow and smooth, give them time.
-
I don't play as much but work on your factions and what not, or get good at crucible like reallllly good
-
I continue to have fun because all my friends still play. If I was a loner, then prolly would give up until DLC. But there are a couple exotics I still need and a couple of personal achievements I would like to do.
-
Well I play crucible with some of my good friends have u tried it?
-
Edited by Lull9: 3/11/2015 4:50:14 PMWhy do some people have this crazy attitude like they expect that they're going to be perfectly fulfilled playing this game hours a day for the rest of their lives? If you've played hundreds of hours, then yeah, you're going to get burnt out eventually. Not a shocker. You paid $60, that didn't buy unlimited playability. It's a game, not a way of life, get over it.
-
Dying light is a great game, and the devs actually give a shit. Last time I logged on a video from the devs played saying thanks for the support and a teaser of all the FREE upcoming content.....they actually give a shit unlike bungie.
-
I stopped playing a month or so back. I pop the disc in every now and again but in just going through the motions. Hopefully, HoW will provide enough reason to pull me back in properly.
-
Edited by HarambeBL00D: 3/11/2015 9:00:59 PMTry playing on Tuesdays and Fridays only for pve and fill in the rest of the week with PvP. Throw a strike into the mix while playing PvP to change it up and do some pve bounties. Also I'm maxing all exotics and legendaries I have. Y not at this point. Prolly will have to do it again but o well.
-
I stopped playing except for a few crucible games here and there. None of my friends play anymore.
-
Having 0 people on from the clan these days does not help the fun factor lol
