Does anyone else match their shader to the map?
I'm not sure if it is actually helpful, but I try to blend in with the map, such as using the copper (crota) shader on vex levels, Thunderdevil on dark levels, red on mars, etc.
Does anyone else do this? Does it really help?

It does nothing. It's a shader, not a cloaking system. If anything it would be ever-so-slightly more useful in PvP to help you blend in but the colors are so different than the backgrounds that is quite hard to do and would only work in a very small section of areas on the PvP maps
