Lost in the Dark; Final Chapter: Into the Light

Hello guardians, this is AnonPig of The Collective of Fanfiction and I'd like to take this moment to invite all writers and readers alike to join! This is a single part of a much larger story, A New Dark Shines, to read from the beginning of the beginning: Arttu and the Ahamkara-Chapter 1; The Spine Into the Light Erik ran, tears streaming down his face, he knew the way out like it was lit up for him. The Hive didn't stop him, didn't harm him, didn't even care about him. He just kept running until he was on the outermost layer of the moon. Once there he found a guardian, they were willing to bring him back to the tower. He was nice, an awoken warlock named Calhoun, he understood something had happened and didn't ask. They touched down into the hangar, Erik had stopped crying on the way back to earth but was still devastated with the events on the moon. Calhoun asked Erik if he wanted him there when he went wherever it was he was going. Erik didn't speak, he just walked away. He struggled with the thought of coming clean, telling Zavala everything that had happened, and that he was done being a guardian, but decided against it in the end. He would say Asger and Hanne-16 died at the hands of a knight, and how it was driven insane by the jest. He would warn him of the dangers that lurked in the hellmouth. But he wouldn't say he was one of them. After talking to the vanguard and the speaker Erik went back to his rooms. He didn't leave if it wasn't necessary for a long time. Things had happened as he sulked, a Hunter had tried to take down the wall, the warlock who brought him back had died on a mission. Erik was ready to never be a guardian again and just retire to the city when one day he ran into an old rival. Arttu was the Hunter who had tried to destroy the wall, although he claims he was being influenced by an Ahamkara at the time. He had done quite a bit since their last match in the crucible, he even abandoned those bones on his arm for a cage on his chest. How long had it been since he last saw Arttu? He went away on a long mission, but Erik had only heard of that, not seen him off. It was that day. That day in the crucible where everything changed for him. Arttu had cheated, and somehow marked Erik for misfortune. It was clear now that everything that had happened...days? Weeks? Years?! Ago had been Arttu's fault. Erik would have his vengeance. For himself, for Asger, and for Hanne-16. Her last words echoed in his mind. End Thankyou all for reading! This is your friendly neighborhood AnonPig reminding you to live beyond the story! Join me again soon to read the next installment in this series, A New Dark Shines, which will be following Arttu on his next adventure!
