Thorn Bounty

So I've got my first exotic bounty and decided to try and get Thorn. I'm up to the Crucible stage of which I have played about 5 matches ever lol. I mainly played PvE. I know I have to use void weapons of which I have a machine gun and fusion rifle. So any advice on which match would be best to complete this part of the bounty or any general advice would be a great, as I suck at PvP lol. Also I'm not sure how hard it is to solo the Xyor part of the bounty? So I might need a bit of help on that. I'm sure some of you guys will be willing to help me out if needed. Thx.

  • I'd actually like to accompany you on the strike part if I'm around when you do it? I passed on Thorn last time it was offered due to not having any void weapons, but I'd like to know what I'm in for when I do take up the bounty :)

    • When you have completed the crucible part I will run the xyor part with you. I'm not patient (careful 😉) enough to solo it. Just let me know when.

      • If you haven't played much pvp and don't mind cheesing it, apparently it's pretty easy to get the bounty in about 2 hours if you take a mate or three into one of the bigger purely deathmatch maps, agree a quiet corner to meet and shoot them in the face over and over :D Otherwise I've heard Control is best if you ignore capturing objectives, hang back from the capture zones and shoot unsuspecting peeps with your void fusion cannon.

        • Cheers for the advice. Control it is. And I won't be cheeseing it. That's a slippery slope, first cheeseing , and before you know it I'll be asking people for directions and even God forbid reading instruction manuals before using or putting something together! I've got void HMG and fusion so will just have to see how I get on and get to a point where I suck slightly less. Just enough to make the grade lol. But I will get some of you guys on a fire team to do the Xyor strike with me when it opens up.

On heck of a racer! - old

Did mine with a void shotgun and void hmg. Played cautiously, took s while but got there. The Xyor bit is tough to solo but there are always folks in the clan willing to help out.

        • Control is better as it is slightly more predictable about where the enemy will be. I have got 2 Thorns now - but the warlock doesn't count as it is just too easy with voidwalker. The hunter was a drag, I resorted to void MG and void shotgun (sword breaker is ace) - take it slow, pick your moments, hang back and pick up an assist kill (they still count toward the total points as long as void damage). You aren't trying to come top of the leader board, so points don't make prizes. But you do want a good k/d ratio. I am also doing on my Titan currently - don't ask me why....blame Bungie

        • Well it's on my Titan so I can use defender. Also have half decent rare fusion rifle, shotgun and machine gun. So I have weapon options. But the few times I did play crucible I was total cannon fodder lol. I got 85 medal so far, so Rambo I'm not! Just got to get stuck in an split some wigs👊

          • Use any void shotgun... I'm using a uncommon class one (it's rubbish tbh) and remember to pull the trigger when your point blank. I'm half way through that part of the bountie and I have only played 4 control matches. Also having void granades makes things much easier.

          • Ive got that bounty too mate, I read if you have a Titan then using the Defender subclass counts for void with grenades and special

          • I think control matches are the best for that bounty. Save up you super and hit a control point as it is being stolen by the opposition. I don't mind helping you out with the final stage of the bounty.
