ITT: People who think that evolution is supposed to explain the origin of the universe. They are different f*cking things people! Evolution is a theory the same way Gravity is a theory. A theory is a hypothesis that has been tested to the point where it is considered fact, it is not up for debate because we already had the debates. I agree that evolution is not something to be "believed" in like a god or higher power. It is a scientific theory and as such has been subjected to rigorous testing through experimentation and observation and has yet to be disproven by the greatest minds in science since Darwin. Things in science are never proven, only disproven, so it becomes inappropriate to refer to a theory as a fact even though we can't disprove it in any way. Evolution is simply descent with modification due to natural selection (mating is natural selection too). Do you look different then your parents and grandparents? Yes. Is this a form of evolution? Yes. Does evolution have anything to do with a belief or any spiritual or religious practice? No! Ps. We didn't evolve from apes...We only have a common ancestor according to the fossil record and the 98% similarity in out DNA to chimps. Evolution does not explain our creation, only how it is we adapted to life in this century.

God created evolution

The theory is a sound theory. I believe that is truly possible that this is how life propagated on earth. However, that doesn't mean it's "true" how can a theory be true? If it was proven true then it wouldn't be called a theory. The main thing I'm waiting on is the discovery of a lot of missing links. I know we have unearthed the bones and remains of a lot of semi human creatures. Why aren't there any alive today? Chimpanzees exist, apes exist, why don't we see anything alive today that is in between chimps and humans? Humankind has so far never witnessed the creation of a new species as a result of evolution. Since we only live to be around 80 years old we might not develop that perspective.
