Hello I am a 13 year old gamer and I play Destiny. When I join someone or go on raids I am Called "Squeaker".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being 2 years younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am 13 and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with 6-9 year old's if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome MMO. I love Destiny it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about 70% of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think Destiny would be more inviting and people under 14 would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?
Australia has different spelling and grammar and I am 13 get off my case.
You deserve being called a squeaker -blam!- why don't you go play halo or some shit little squeaker, I hate kids and every kid I see in a party chat I make sure to say "-blam!- you squeaker" and leave.
-
Ok wow first of all, I get that people can be mean sometimes, and kicking you because of your voice is wrong, but you really need to get over yourself. Saying that when people call you a squeaker is abuse? That is just stupid. Sure they're "bullying you" but who gives a -blam!-? Maybe if instead of just complaining about it you just calm down and play the game you wouldn't be kicked as often. Also don't say "I am 13 get off my case" right after complaining about how people treat you like you're young.
-
Firstly, well spoken for a 13 year old. Secondly, people dont usually like to play with people under like 10 years old becausr they usualky arent that good at the game. Im sorry to all day one 10 year olds who are skilled... but generally they arent really good
-
If you're really 13, then your spelling and grammar is better than most of the adults that post here. I'd play with you, but if you do a bunch of excessive talking and messing around then I'm dropping group. Most kids these days are so annoying - especially the ones that play this game.
-
Thank you I'm only 12 and I get kicked for EVERYTHING raids, crucible, story, you name it I get kicked so thx for standing up for me
-
Theres a few 13-17 yr olds that i raid with, because they're not annoying and know what their doing. You said someone was picking on you for being two years younger? So they were 15, so theres your problem, an immature 15 year old. Dont sweat him man you really handled it like an adult. Anyway, as far as squeakers go, i dont care if your young as long as you dont get on my nerves really. I dont even care if people are good honestly, unless im raiding. If your on ps4 feel free to add me.
-
If the little children are loud and obnoxious then i will gladly tell them to stfu and do as i and/or the other members of my team say. The last thing i want to hear is a -blam!-ing 12 year old screaming into the mic because he got a double kill in crucible or a random exotic drop.
-
I can't handle prepubescent voices. I imagine it's the same thing in our psychology that makes us angry upon hearing a baby cry.
-
I don't mind playing with them if they're mature and levelheaded.
-
There is no way to enforce a rule that says you have to be nice to kids.
-
nah squeakers suck
-
I've nothing against younger players and have helped a few out from time to time. While your post is on to a good point and people could definitely be more polite about the way they handle or say things, you kind of lose credibility when you react age-appropriately (although many adults on the forums also have some growing up to do) and say things like "shut up about ratings" and "can't say crap about" etc. If you bring up a topic like this you should keep your cool, especially since negative comments are to be expected. About the ratings, just because someone does or does not do something, doesn't mean you should or should not. Laws where you live apply to you, not select ones from elsewhere.

I kicked one from each boss as we killed it on the hard raid It was priceless
for those who will hate me, it was my little brother.... Sooooooo. I'm allowed to be a little mean
Woah when is destiny becoming an mmo?

Edited by FlandreScarlette: 10/28/2015 12:29:23 PMThey often have a really, really, really high pitch voice. I shouldn't have to hear that. I'd have the same issue with people that had a shitty mic that generated noise. I have nothing against kids personally, until they start doing any of the following: 1. "I GOT A GALLERHORN!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOO WHOOOOO WHOOOOOOOOOOOO! 2. Acting like they know everything, when they really don't know shit. 3. I even went down so low as to ask a random group(that had mainly squeakers) that was doing a raid how to do it, and they ignored me for 10 minutes and then kicked me. 4. Acting like they're the best, and blaming lag when they clearly mess up. Squeakers (or anyone) that act like this piss me off. Also, having to control my language around someone who is not even old enough to play the game pisses me off. 7-10 year olds should not be playing this game. Or any online game, especially not CoD. I, personally, have had more bad experiences with squeakers than good ones. Most of them are not old enough to play Destiny, or any console game. Hell, Bungie's Code of Conduct says that any people younger than 13 will be banned on the forums, though that isn't doing much. yes i see the date

I think everyone who bullies kids is just sad that they didn't have video games when they were young. I wouldn't have had destiny if I didn't get good marks in my end of year test
-
You do know this Game is rated T for Teen. Not that id care but..
-
Boy when I was your age I was outside runnin. Around skateboarding and whatnot didn't have time for video games and I walked to school in the snow every day and it was uphill. Also I didn't have shoes
-
Start Clan and don't allow anyone over the age of 14. Kick people for being old. I am constantly bullied in my clan for being old, nonstop arthritis jokes. Im 36! Its all in good fun actually, the people in my clan are pretty awesome and I can't recommend forming one enough. Do it and you'll thank me.
-
Remember back in the day when kids played outside, had sports or band practice?
pepperidge farm remember
6-9 year old children do not belong on a co-op shooter.
-
There are clans safe for kids to join that are great. Safe gamers is a good one.
-
I'm fine playing with kids as long as they're respectful and not annoying. If they start singing shitty charts songs badly down their mics, I leave...
-
I don't care as long as they act right. I got in a group with some tweens last night and had to leave by at golgoroth because they wouldn't stop bickering with one another.
-
It sucks you've had bad experiences or been bullied. I don't want to bum you out but you will meet these people in varying capacities throughout your life. And unfortunately the best advice I can give you: avoid them. These people won't change because of something you say or do. Simply put they're either born or programmed to be knobs. So just leave the chat group, fire team, whatever it is you're doing. Don't just tolerate it. Friend the people who you like and play with them.
-
I'm 12 and I have no problems because I already have kind of an older sounding voice and I try to be as nice as I can, say sorry when I make a mistake and just acting mature in general...
-
You need to translate it to real life. I'm 34. I wouldn't play cards with a 13 year old. I wouldn't play soccer with a 13 year old. I wouldn't go get coffee and chat with a 13 year old. Do you see the trend? It's not a personal thing, it's just not done. Age groups tend to congregate together throughout life, it's a normal human thing. Why you're treated disrespectfully is a different story. There is no excuse. But, generally the type of person who is into games like this is not strong in social graces. I say this with sincerity and without rancor. You would do better not playing this game for that reason. We treat each other poorly here, and on other games like this. Always have, and always will. This isn't where you want to be learning what's ok and not ok to say to people, otherwise you'll be stuck like most of these guys, playing this game for 100 of hours when you could actually be doing something constructive and social. Like dating, or a legitimate hobby. Stick to local multi-player, where you have to at least share space with your friends.
