Hello I am a 13 year old gamer and I play Destiny. When I join someone or go on raids I am Called "Squeaker".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being 2 years younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am 13 and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with 6-9 year old's if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome MMO. I love Destiny it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about 70% of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think Destiny would be more inviting and people under 14 would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?
Australia has different spelling and grammar and I am 13 get off my case.
You do know this game is rated T for Teen. And I like to hear people reply when I say "who wants to be relic holder?", not crickets. The dark days of Destiny LFG and joining raid teams because you had chatterwhite on....
-
13? Squeaker? Those dont go together You shouldn't have a high-pitched voice at 13
-
with 6-9 year olds
AYYYYYY
-
Someone called OP squeaker. OP plays victim.
-
From personal experience, most younger players I've encountered have been rude, ungrateful, annoying and generally poor players. That's not saying there aren't younger players who are good, it just means that my view on having to play with them is soured by my bad experiences.
-
If the player is good and they know how to use a mic. Not keep it unmuted while yelling to their parents or arguing with someone. And they can know when to just stop talking (they are down in hardmode and everyone needs to focus.)
-
I don't mind playing with the younger generation but if your like the kid I was with last night hen your gone. Raided with this kid last night that just would not shit up and had the most annoying voice and you could hear him arguing with his mom about some bullspit. We ended up kicking him
-
I really don't care what kind of shit you get, you are one of the most well spoken (grammatically) children I have seen in a while
-
One thing you must learn young or old is that people love to be offended as well as offend others. Your job is to laugh at their ignorance and be you. You do not need everyone's approval. Get a raid team of people you get along with and practice. Eventually you will have it down to a science and be able to complete it first try, then you'll never have to worry about a "bully" or being left out again.
-
Your first mistake here was saying you were a kid, no ones gonna take this post seriously after reading that
-
If they're a random and annoying and won't shut up I'll just mute them. If they suck on top of that, then they'll get booted. Only kid we ever booted to be mean was some little kid who kept saying n**ger. We booted him right before Atheon dropped and I still feel good about it.

A 6 year old can barely use 2 thumbsticks at the same time... i call troll.
-
TL:DR for those who don't want to read the wall of text "Wah people won't play with me when I want them to" "Wah my balls haven't dropped" "Wah people are entitled to their likes and dislikes even if that includes me"
-
Joined a friends raid group and there was a 13 yr old kid. I was having a bad game and he saved my ass a few times lol it was sad because i swear to god he qas trying to make his voice deeper so he wouldnt annoy us. I really dont care how old you are or what you sound like as long as your cool.
-
"You guys are mean cuz you won't play with me!!" Is basically what I got from that post. Find people your age to play with. You would do that in real life so why not in video games?
-
Uhm.. Maybe we don't play with children because it's WEIRD...? Child molesters and pedophiles set a pretty awful, yet not uncommon precedent. It's safe to say that most people don't like playing with you because adults and children who don't know eachother, don't need to play together.
-
I'm 15 and I don't have the deepest voice but since I'm calm and don't really act out, I don't get kicked. If you are 13 and yelling all the time or acting like you know everything then I understand but if you are just helping out and being relaxed and not acting out, there is no reason you should get kicked.

How to avoid this problem: Step 1: keep your talking to a minimum, as in short one worded answers to questions. Step 2: let your gameplay speak for itself, if you're terrible it'll show regardless of age or gender. Step 3: join a clan, they are far more forgiving and understanding of things and it isn't hard to find decent ones. Step 4: Profit ???

Squeaker or not. You're cool with me if you hold your own and listen to instructions.

Edited by Beeburrito: 10/28/2015 5:12:57 PMIf you're chill, I'm good. If you freak out, you're getting the boot. Male or female, squeaker or not. And honestly, there is a very big maturity difference between 13 and 15. Edit: Adult or not
-
The problem is that a lot of people of all ages think they are entitled to the Internet as their community. They act as if anyone not in their age group or subculture somehow intrudes on what they assume is their own space. Destiny is a game for all ages. No one who groups with randoms should think they are entitled to act as if anyone who is not their age has less right to participate then they do. If you only want to play with people like you then join a clan of like minded. The public parts of the game belongs to everyone.

Its a little disappointing I'm not 13 but I used to be bullied for my voice and its annoying. You seem to be one of the more mature younger people and thats what I like to see. Mature or not though people are assholes just because of someones voice. It's life though and you have to deal with it.
-
I just can't stand high pitched voices from squeakers
-
I'm 13 and I deal with the exact same thing, nice to know I'm not alone
-
There is a difference between a squeaker and a kid. Squeakers are very annoying and tend to yell and scream a lot. If the kid is calm and good he isn't a squeaker. If he cries about everything but and does nothing but scream he is. I normally would mute a squeaker but in a raid you can't because you NEED communication That's why people kick you. Not because your a kid. But because of how you act.

I'm nearing 30 and yet I understand your issue. In my experience young players can be more fun, driven and respectful, even in raids than older players, such as myself. Human nature is horrible and because "its the internet", many don't think it matters what they say or do and how it impacts others. I've met the whole spectrum in Destiny and I'll take a good mannered "squeaker" over an older person with a disgusting personality. I hope that you find other like minded people so you can enjoy Destiny the way it was intended.
