Hate Against Kids (Rant)
Hello I am a [u]13 year old[/u] gamer and I play [b]Destiny[/b]. When I join someone or go on [b]raids [/b]I am Called "[i]Squeaker[/i]".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being [u]2 years[/u] younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am [u]13 [/u]and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with[u] 6-9 year old's[/u] if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome [b]MMO[/b]. I love [b]Destiny [/b]it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about [b]70%[/b] of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think [b]Destiny [/b]would be more inviting and people under [u]14 [/u] would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?

4 RepliesWhat have I done? I left Destiny for a bit and I came back to over 9000 votes on the pole and 47 pages of responses. Working as a Community Manager and doing a lot with my life, I realized this will never change and people will judge people for basically anything they can tell from speaking to them(Age, Gender, Pitch, How weird your voice is etc.) I have given up hope but hopefully this post has impacted some people, I am back to Destiny now and I can't wait to start some Raids! I am going to start going on the forums and I hope we can all understand kids and realize some are annoying and little shits, others are good and chill. My break was PC gaming <3

I've met two kids who are total bad asses and I kept them on my friends list, one in Destiny. That is only 2 though, out of the 11 years I have been playing games that require a team. Its just preference man.

Because ever shooter game was a majority of adults, and destiny is overrun by little kids who won't listen to direction and cry about every little thing that happens to them.

1 ReplyThe only people who abuse "squeakers" are still squeakers themselves. It's Napoleon complex. 15 year olds know how young they themselves are so they bully younger people to make themselves feel better about it. I am 29 and I won't join fire teams asking for no squeakers, because I know whoever posted that is a petty 15 year old bully who thinks they are the king of Destiny.

5 RepliesI have a friend and he was 13 I guess when I met him. I thought he was a teen or a young adult. He just has a deep voice and he's serious. Although he can get crazy n stuff but, first impression is always important. If they say you're a squeaker thn find something to burn them. Be smart. I never actually played with little kids, except for this one time... It was mind blowing. I thought it was a myth! But it was all true, the horror...he didn't stop screaming or was overly excited. He didn't wanna listen to anything and was getting really obnoxious to the point where I had to tell him to shut up. He was getting all bossy n shit n called me a squeaker. I have a high pitched voice but I cant help it, im 19 but im a girl.

I wish there was actually a way of preventing kids getting on the better games with higher age restrictions like GTA and what not... It's irritating beyond belief that sh*t parents still buy the games for their kids. Then you end up with communities being polluted by them. I can't even think of a way it'd be possible to keep kids off 18+ games without breaching some kind of human rights, and it's a shame because probably 99% of encounters that are negative on a game, are to do with a kid. Don't these little shts play outside anymore or try and shag chicks in their school? Seems that most of em are pissing around on games all day.

I enjoy playing with kids. I am 25 and did oryx on hard for my first time with the help of 2 youngsters. They had more patience than most people and we fun. Yes we dialed down our language but playing kids are usually my better games. It takes patience and open mindedness on both sides

I really don't care what age I play Destiny with, and I give everyone the benefit of the doubt. If you bring drama, arguing, yelling, spazzing, lie or make the game unpleasant then I'm out. I'm playing to have fun, don't ruin my fun and I won't ruin yours

2 RepliesDestiny is [b][i][u]NOT[/u][/i][/b] an MMO. Please don't spread false information. Me personally, I'm 22, so I still clearly remember what it was like to be under 18 and 15. No one was EVER that rude to me as a kid. They were always very patient and kind, so I am the same way towards people under 18. They don't even speak that often on PSN, but that's a personality thing. I couldn't care less about ratings. No one sheltered me from anything, and I turned out to be a calm, non impressionable person. My mom let me watch whatever movies I wanted and play whatever video games I wanted. I don't get super shocked by nudity nor extreme violence. Some people are just hard asses who need to be less prejudiced against younger players because they create the abusive environment they're worried about.

I am fine playing with younger people, assuming that they don't start crying after a single wipe, or drive me insane with incessant meaningless chatter in their (surprisingly) annoying voices. I do give them chances, but if they annoy me, I, like anyone, will kick/mute them without a second thought, as I will with anyone who drives me insane over raids and such.
