Hello I am a 13 year old gamer and I play Destiny. When I join someone or go on raids I am Called "Squeaker".
I am apparently someone to laugh at and abuse for being 2 years younger then another person. About 1 in 15 people are nice and don't care. When I need help with a Raid I invite people and ask people for help, then I am abused because I am 13 and have a voice that is kind of high.
I play with 6-9 year old's if they need help... most other people just bully them and ruin the experience of Communication on this awesome MMO. I love Destiny it is fascinating and enjoyable... but about 70% of the community are bullies towards "Little Kids". If you don't want to play with someone because they have a voice that you absolutely can't stand, don't be a Bully just say "Sorry I really don't want to do this... I want to do other things" as appose to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You were a kid once whats wrong with it?
If they are screaming in the microphone and being really Annoying then give them a chance tell them your gonna kick them if they keep going, then if they keep going don't retaliate just be chill and say "Hey you had your warning... sorry your being kicked".
The thread is about people being bullies after they say a few words in a high voice. Also if they try to be funny don't laugh and say that wasn't really that funny try something else. About 4 years ago I got Xbox with COD and I did these things to so I can understand why people gave them this reputation. I feel it should be changed a little bit. Fighting fire with fire never works out it's just a waste of time.
If this is changed I would think Destiny would be more inviting and people under 14 would enjoy it a lot more!
Also shut up about ratings. Look at the movies people sneak in all the time your not gonna stop anything.
In Australia you are allowed to play it so you can't say crap about kids from Aussie. Think of something without involving ratings or do you need to rely on them?
Australia has different spelling and grammar and I am 13 get off my case.
Usually being 13 or 14 has nothing to do with it. Someone's voice is someone's voice it can't be helped or changed. The main problem that people have is: A. They don't shut up B. Maturity C. Ability to listen D. Generally they die more Now I know all the things listed above can be done by everyone and we all probably were like that at one stage. Just what I'm saying is that's the main case about young kids now. I did the raid yesterday with a boy who had the voice of a 9 year old girl but he insisted on himself being 21 with a voice changer. He didn't want to listen to the strat we were going with, He kept using a shotgun in the warpriest boss fight. Didn't kill assigned adds Kept dying and when we kindly asked him if he needed to swap positions with someone else or if he needed any extra help call out. He just stayed quiet.. So we were like hey dude are you there? I don't think he can hear us. We all checked party. He then promptly said "I'm here"in a grumpy attitude. We asked why he didn't talk or call out? He said I didn't feel like it. Then died again. He then left. We didn't kick him but once he left the trash talk about him and his skill started

just make your voice sound really deep
-
I'm a squeaker and I constantly get kicked from raids, strikes, or any situation that I am able to talk to someone

Edited by ShadowStrider09: 10/30/2015 2:29:54 AMThis game is rated T for teen dawg, maybe you should learn to grammar before you go around posting that other players are dicks,
to hurting feelings and being a dick.
You always have the liberty to leave the party if you're being "abused", take advantage of it.
-
Lol. I hate them because when my fireteam for Oryx on HM to half health, the squeaker died. We already tried 5 times, so everyone else gave up...
-
Did you submit this for your English class essay prompt? But nah man I understand it's gotta suck for kids. I usually give them a chance.
-
I was in a KF raid with two kids.. Weren't too bad except when they started to sing or panic when it wasn't a big deal.. When kids start to panic OMFG...
-
I will game with all age groups, however if they are overly bossy, rude, yelling, complain non stop about hacking, lag switchers or they are constantly dying because the game glitched....I will finish what we are doing then leave and avoid player.
-
I'm 34. I'd rather hammer my testicles to an old oak tree than play with kids. You'll understand why when you get older.
-
If I can recall, when I was 13 I wasn't such a little bitch. I didn't call random people bullies because they said I was annoying over the Internet. Bullies were people who would beat the shit out of you for no reason. Listen kid find a solid group who wants to play with you or be a silent player. Just don't talk unless it's absolutely necessary and you'll be fine.
-
PREACH to you! Actually though, this is a huge problem in the destiny community. I know a kid who is 10 years old and he is probably better than most of the players I know. It's almost like the phrase "Don't judge a book by its cover", don't judge a person by the pitch of their voice. I salute you sir! :)
-
A 20 year old isn't going to hang out with a 13 year old. I don't see why it's so hard to understand that they don't want to play destiny with them either.

I'll agree that kids should be allowed to play video games, Destiny included, but from your post I have to wonder, does no one pay attention to the ratings any more? More and more often I see kids far too you playing games they really shouldn't be, in my opinion. But not because of the reasons you think. CoD, Modern Warfare, Warcraft, anything you can think of that has an online component to it. Being online can expose children to trolls, elitists, and all other assorted negative players. This exposure hurts children and affects their attitudes and makes them think its okay to insult someone or be a total *insert bad words here* to someone with out rhyme or reason. Don't think I'm saying that you, or any other child isn't mature enough to handle said games, as parents that bought you the game and let you play it(Or don't care.) All I'm saying is negativity is highly contagious, and as such, this game, and forum is rife with it. Just food for thought, but on that note I apologize for the seemingly greater part of the community who think all kids are bad. Keep on doing what your doing kiddo, as long as its okay with your parents anyway... TLDR: Kids playing games GOOD. Kids playing games with adults that are mean/spiteful BAD. Kids picking up bad habbits from said adults EVEN WORSE.

I've ran into chill squeakers, but then they act like they own me. When this happens, I just block them.
-
I'm also 13, but i hit puberty early so I sound in my 20s over Xbox live
-
For being two years younger? The vast majority of destiny players are older than 15 I would hope
-
You think you know what abused feels like?! Try getting a manpon and then talk to me! -blam!-!
-
I've only ever kicked one kid. The reason: Randomly joined on us in Vault of Glass, had no problem with that. Continued to ask us silly questions, had no problem with that. Now, I run a clan that helps people- so I'm trying to explain the Gorgons at this point. The kid keeps talking over me- SCREAMING OVER ME, about how VOG is garbage and he has a Crota CP. While he's doing this he keeps running ahead and getting caught, causing us to wipe. I asked him to stop, a multitude of times so I could talk to my team. He continued, at this point I had at least one message from everyone in the group to kick him. So I warned him one last time and he began throwing a tantrum. So he was gone. I get that not every kid is like this, BUT- every kid I come across is EXACTLY like this. It's not about the voice for me, it's about the maturity level. If I have to fight with you to do something simple like hang back, or follow me instead of taking a completely different path and you obviously don't know what you're doing, then that is ridiculous. I'm a bit older than most on these forums by the looks of it. When I run into somebody I know is going to annoy me, I just quietly back out and send messages to everyone or tell everyone I'll be back later.

*cough* T for TEEN *cough*

Having a deep voice helps. And I'm talking like bottom of ocean deep.
-
honestly i couldn't care less about the age of someone from an LFG group. the "squeaks/voice" don't bother me as long as you're chill and communicate. what bothers me is... ...when the young ones die on a raid/nf and literally scream into the mic like they're being buttr@ped. ...when a song on the radio or TV comes o and they start singing rapping along/start going on effing tangents and/or talking about stupid @ss shit when they should be focussing. ...when their parents tell them they have only xx-minutes left to play but were in the middle of the raid or something that clearly needs more time and when they start arguing with their parents because of that and its all over the mic. and lastly... ... when they claim to have "done this before" but even a blind man can see that they don't know wtf they're doing. "Im sorry guys. Im usually able to get Oryx in the first try on HM," is the best one I've heard. ... really? cause you jumping on the platforms out of order and jumping off before runner gets the relic/brand when Ogres get near is reeeeeeaaaaal convincing son. ... anyway, back to the point. as long as you're not doing any of that stuff you're fine by me, lol.
