Do you believe Call of Duty is bad for the gaming industry?
Some people say it's dumbing down games to appeal to the "COD crowd"
Some people say it doesn't promote developers to be creative
Let me hear your thoughts and opinions

Yes, Call of Duty is bad for the gaming industry, or should I say the dumbasses who buy it every year are bad for the gaming industry. With it being a mega success while changing very little over a years time, this gives other developers the idea that they can do that too, or publishers the idea that they can do this with their successful properties. (Look at Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed, AC2, then Brotherhood then Revelations) All in the span of what? 3-4 years? All without a major leap in technology. Then there was a substantial break, and AC3 comes out, it has those technological leaps and bounds. So, if you want improvement in your games over time, Call of Duty isn't doing it, and it's making billions. People want to make billions, so they'll want to follow the CoD formula. Things become stagnant quick, and we accept it. So, yeah, Call of Duty is bad for the gaming industry, but it's all the people who purchase CoD year after year which are the real problem.
