What needs to happen is you need to ask the question "why do I care?" Why do you care what weapons and armor other people have? Why do you care that everyone has this or that exotic when it does nothing to hurt or hinder your playing experience? Once you can answer those questions properly, then you may just find that the "earning" arguments and wasted frustration were nothing but a waste of time.
