THE PATCH
With the patch, Bungie, you've dictated the way you want us and therefore WHEN you want us to use our guns. I say WHEN because that's the WAY we use them. For example, I'm not going to use your short range auto rifle on the Nexus Strike but it would be perfect for the Abyss against the thrall. That's WHEN I would use my AR. Well what if I went into the abyss with a hand cannon and I wanted to take advantage of this new, short range "chainsaw" you guys call an auto rifle? What if I wanted to take advantage of the WHEN? Well I can't. At least not easily. I'm stuck with my hand cannon unless I want to get bitched slapped to death by moon men.
POOR DESIGN
If I want my Vanquisher in the abyss I have to dive into my menu. Sure, let me get right on that in the abyss on hard mode. Piece of cake, right? Here's the deal though. I could if I really wanted to. It's not as if I'm restricted. The only thing is it's the worst gun swapping system ever devised. It's like you want to restrict us but you've handcuffed us with paper: I'm restricted but I can break free.
SO WHY NOT GIVE US THE D-PAD YOU D-BAGS?
Seriously, the dancing—I don't give a shit. I'd MUCH rather tap my d-pad to the left and go from my thorn to my suros. Give us the option to use the d-pad for loadouts or dancing. Put the option in the settings. I want to use my guns. They're SO hard earned but I don't cycle through them near enough. I would equip lesser used guns way more often if I knew I could switch back to my favorite guns easily. Who knows, I may find my lesser used guns more amazing if I could access and dismiss them with ease. But the way you've designed the system has built in risk that can get me killed. How lame is that?
Everyone. Ask for d-pad loadouts. It's insane that games from 2005 have them but destiny doesn't.

Would be a great use of the touch pad on ps4 and whatever button it is on Xbox controller that brings up your ghost, and then d-pad. Tracking bounties isn't really necessary, in my experience, and nobody uses fireteam chat.

D-pad load outs? I love it. However it makes too much sense, so Bungie will likely ignore it.

I don't point, or sit, or whatever often. Since you have three weapons slots, here's what would make sense: Tapping Up: Primary Tapping Left: Special Tapping Down: Heavy Or here's an even better idea. Having the D-Pad select or do any slot in your gear page. You get to choose what the it does in the settings menu (much like your controls, wearing a helmet, etc) Edit: On a side note. Fix losing ammo when you switch weapons. That's probably the worst idea in the game. Especially now with the Gunsmith bounties, it gets real annoying when you have to hope ammo drops or wait five minutes to pop a synth before you can work on them.

Nah I like dancing, you should have the option for it though. You should also have the option to always be in 3rd person too. I know I'm in the minority but still

3 RepliesIf you want your vanquisher in the abyss, equip it while your forming the bridge into the hellmouth. I don't know how your game works, but if I finished the nexus and went strait to the abyss, id have plenty of time to change weapons IN ORBIT!!! NOW let me help you with a valid argument. Devils Lair nightfall with arc burn. Your running with fatebringer, patience and time, and song if ir yut. But for that brief time the solar shielded wizards or Thrall are out, you want your VoC. That would be a legit time for a quick swap, although one person in your fireteam agreeing to carry a solar weapon negates the need.
