Any other family peeps out there have to balance Destiny with work, kids and a wife/girlfriend? My wife puts up with Destiny but it's mostly because I don't play till kids are tucked in and read to and I try and watch a show of my wife's choosing before jumping on. Stay on late get up early... Worth it!
What is everyone's ritual for getting to Destiny without getting in trouble with the family?
Edit: I love that I'm not alone in this. I can't believe how many people have the identical schedule as mine! Must be why I always find good randoms when I'm on, we are all family men. #destinydadsunite
Edit: We got our first Toxic Troll response. So I would like to give the award for biggest buzzkill to SEANY, You earned it bro.
Edit: WOW GUYS AND GALS!!! I woke up to hundreds more comments and 99% of them are positive! It's amazing to see so many good family peeps finding a healthy balance between gaming, work and family. You people are amazing and I'm not sure I've smiled so much reading these posts.
Edit: over 1000 replies!!!! Nice to see so many awesome people out there and hardly any trolls! Stay real guardians.

This my exact situation. It can be pretty tough sitting through celebrity reality garbage for an hour just to get 1-2 hours of Destiny.
-
I am literally living this situation as I type this. She's pregnant so we watch the food network then she falls asleep early.
-
I know if doesn't work for everyone but have you tried getting your wife into it? My wife and I play all the time together. It is a costly investment but with the way consoles are these days you need two consoles to play with the person sitting next to you on the couch. Lol. Sucks I know.
-
Exactly what you said. After daughter's in bed, show(s) with wife, late night gaming and early morning. Rinse and repeat.
-
Oral sex.

Yup. Only, my wife hates me coming to bed late. It's me who deals with the lack of sleep. I get everything done and don't let the tiredness show. It's invisible to those around me, except day 3 I go to sleep around 10.
-
During the week - wait until the wife goes up to bed usually around 9 PM and then cram as much as I can take before weariness overtakes me - that's usually around 1 or 2 AM and back up around 5:30 to start the work day. Weekend - try to sneak a quick session or two during the day if the wife is running errands, but anything longer waits until the evening and only when we're at home and not gallivanting about the town... after all - we still need to maintain a healthy relationship with our spouses.

College all week, but come Friday night? Well, yeah, that's for the wife.... But Saturday night? Get the kids to bed, order in a lovely Chinese meal for the wife, put her in the corner with Facebook and off I go to the land of "pew pew die! Nasty fallen/hive/vex etc". I might make it to bed by about five or six am, and the wife still has to deal with the kids in the morning while I sleep it off, but that's why I married her. :)
-
I do the same as you. Awake at 7am and wife n baby dont go to sleep untill 11pm, so i game untill 2am every day lol. The struggle is real. I try to put her shows on as early as possible in hopes she will fall asleep watching it.

I have 5 kids and a wife, I come home deal with kids tell bedtime... hop on tell about 12 or 1 go to sleep. Depending on the night.
-
I wake up real early and play before she wakes up.
-
Got a full time job, wife, and 2 kids. I work 2nd shift, my wife works overnight so when I get home I put the boys to bed, say goodbye to my wife, and fire up destiny for a few hours. I always wind up paying for it the next day when my youngest wakes up at 7am but that's why they make full throttle.
-
Same here, usually get on after 10.30 n stop in till 1/2 then up for work at 7, that's probably y I dunt raid much 2
-
I work, go to school and have a wife who also likes games just not the ones I like. Late nights, early mornings after she falls asleep and week nights are when I get to play. For those with the same I obligations, feel free to add me. XB1 gt same as name.

Same boat here. 2 kids, 4 & 2. I play from 9pm til 12 or or sometimes 2 Lol. Those 2am sessions make work hell the next day though lol. Wife let's me be after 9 as I usually am the one who gives the kids their baths, reading at bedtime, etc. Plus we run the 2 tv offense in our basement; 1 tv for me and games and I use a headset to not disturb her, the other tv is for her and shows, movies, etc. Been working great for years now.
-
Wife only lets me play when she's bored with what's on TV and starts reading. Usually ends up with me playing around 9:30 on weeknights until 10:30-11. I go into work around 6:30am. Weekends I usually spend riding dirt bikes, mountain bikes, street bikes, or working on my house. Don't get to play much, but I enjoy the time I get to play.
-
We have the same ritual OP... Wife, two kids and don't play while they're awake
-
Haha same boat dude. My son is a year and a half so I play in the afternoon through his nap if I can. Otherwise I start at about 9 pm and play til 12 or 1am.
-
Tuesday night is unplug night. Friday night is date night. All housework must get done. She knows it's what I like, but she is who I love.
-
I'm with ya. Work all day. Wrestling meet at the moment. Seems kids events are always on reset day. Wife reads after 9 and I stay up till 1 or 2 am playing.
-
Same here. Only play late evenings and nights when gf and kids have gone to bed. And like some other player alteady posted below, those energy drinks in the morning are what's getting me through the day ;)
-
I'm in a clan full of fathers, husbands. It can get tricky but we get by.
-
You and I do exactly the same thing.
-
Same here. Dad/hubby until they go to bed, then the insomniac comes out until I'm only able to get 3 hours of sleep.
