Gjallarhorn Drop Rate
Hey guys!
I have finally received my first Gjallarhorn this week from Crota normal.
Ever since, I have seen Gjallarhorn everywhere. I even finished a Crota hard checkpoint with 5 people having this rocket launcher equipped.
We see the people that are asking for this weapon every week from Xur and from RNG. Even though we say this gun is one of the rarest exotics, I honestly think it is not.
What do you think ? Is Gjallarhorn rare or not ?

i've had like four of every single other exotic weapon drop for me so far in over 1,000 hours of play (according to my Xbone), and a few duplicates for armor as well. only one Gjallarhorn.

I've gotten 3 in the last month. I even did the nightfall on my girlfriends name and her character last week on sepiks and she got a gally this is surprising because she plays maybe once every 2 weeks. My buddy got his first one this week and he was a day one player. It's not that rare. You only think they're rare when you don't have one. I don't see why people would be mad if xur sold it. If you don't have one you don't play often or your new.

It's not that it's the "rarest" it's just people are more focused on it and notice it more. If the universal remote for example had some mad stats that everyone wanted it would be more talked about an moated looked for. In all honesty I don't think it's the hardest to get (not saying that because I have one) it's just has more attention than everything else.

I think it is people used to say the vex was the rarest exotic but I just got one 4th yesterday & still no Gally wtf!!😧😧

Edited by word2yermutha: 4/23/2015 9:36:46 PMIt was literally the last exotic weapon I got to complete my exotic weapon collection (except for nechro) so in my experience it was super rare. Had about 850 hours of destiny game time played when it finally dropped.

Just got my first Gjallarhorn two days ago! Was doing a nightfall raid and got it that way. About 130 hours spent playing the game between three characters! So nice to get it in a drop. Now I just need an Ice Breaker since I did not have enough str5ange coins to buy it from Xur when he had it a month or so ago.

It is as rare as any weapon or piece of armor that Xur hasnt sold in awhile.

1 Replyit's just the gun that everybody wants which makes it seem like a much more rare drop. I have had 4 gjallarhorns drop but only 1 red death drop for me and that was recent so is red death even more rare ? I think I bought my truth and never had it drop in the wild.

From the group of 7 to 9 guys that i rio raids, nightfalls etc etc... Only one guy didnt get a gjallarhorn yet... The rest of us been getting it frequently (2 weeks i got 3)

In general, its rare, only because people don't run alot of exotic rolls. I do Nitefall Atheon hard Gorgon chest hard Deathsinger Crota normal On 3 characters every week. I used to do crota hard on all for that exotic roll too, but I dont bother anymore since I have all other hard mode loot except ship/sparrow. I've only been high enough level to run these since mid february, I have 4 Gallys.
