Hey guys!
I have finally received my first Gjallarhorn this week from Crota normal.
Ever since, I have seen Gjallarhorn everywhere. I even finished a Crota hard checkpoint with 5 people having this rocket launcher equipped.
We see the people that are asking for this weapon every week from Xur and from RNG. Even though we say this gun is one of the rarest exotics, I honestly think it is not.
What do you think ? Is Gjallarhorn rare or not ?

Gally really isn't that rare. I've had 7 or 8 of them across all the activities. I even bought one from Xur when he sold it 10 days after release. I don't understand how anyone can call it rare when everybody had the chance to buy it for 17 Strange Coins in week 2. Everybody, and I mean everybody I play with has at least one, and I play with a lot of people.

I'm getting it in wawes. First in December I got 3 in 5 days, then for couple of months nothing and then in last month I got 4 more. Last one yesterday from NF.

I did vog hard and got my second one when my friends haven't even got one, let's just say they weren't happy ;-)

I have a better chance at getting shadow price

Nothing is rare a certain exotic does not have a better drop rate then the other it's all RNG Bungie made it this way to be fair. I recently got my ghorn but if you play and do the activities after reset you will have chances to earn it.
-
Have gotten a lot of exotics 3-4 times and no gally...
-
Ghorn, vex, and suros drop for me very often i usually get 1 - 2 of these a week
-
Drop rates are random.
-
I have it
-
You can't assess a drop rate or rarity of any exotic except the special ones like Vex, Elder Ciphers and Necrochasm. All the other generic ones are pure luck and randomness. They don't vary from person to person either. It's just dumb luck. Gjallarhorn has the same drop rate as any exotic, from the patience and time to the hardlight.
-
The Gjallarhorn drop rate is lower than my standards.
-
Because I have sunk 1500 hours into this game on three characters doing everything possible that can drop it each week, I do believe it is extremely rare, and saltiness inducing...

Hello, everyone I just want to say I've been playing like most of you! since day one I have yet to get a gjallahorn but my friends all do, my one friend and i we played VoG and in one run he got two gjallahorns!!! from the same chest on two different characters needless to say he got 4 in like two weeks he has almost 700hrs. We're as I now have over a 1000hrs or so in, It should be more but I took a hiatus for a few months because I was moving on because I could never get my gjallahorn until my friends started playing but once they did it seemed like a piece of cake to them it's just unfair for those that don't have to put that much time in and get the Ghorn were as people like us have to put are heart and soul into this damn game just to receive even one exotic please bungie just let me get my Ghorn already.

I think that we should have a loot roll system at least for weapons maybe do that and lower the drop rate I think to many ppl have it already if everyone had it, it would not be rare. So I understand the rate the way it is but a roll system would make it more interesting but you would definitely have to lower the drop rate at that point. Rare items is what keeps ppl playing. Changing the loot system a bit would help with this issue.

Edited by Spikedzzilm: 7/15/2015 9:12:58 AMI got mine at 152 hours 4 days ago been playing 2 months. I also got my second elder cipher and my last word since then. all of my luck changed that day maybe because it was my dad's birthday. RNG'sus loves me this week. I also got it on my decently new warlock which had about 19 hours of in game time.

I'll probably get near 2500 hours before I get one. Its all about luck

I made a post along these lines recently, though it didnt recieve much attention. My suspicion is that bungie ninja increased the Gjallarhorn drop rate in the background within the last month or two. It seems like there was a sudden increase in posts by people who had finally recieved it. I myself recieved my first one about a month ago and my friend got his just a couple days ago. I have also seen a few drop during various gaming sessions recently. Nothing certain, just kinda suspicious.

-blam!- off you can say its not rare well guess what ive done about every chance there is for 3 months now. Guess what no Ghorn the one gun i want
-
Over 50% of the community has a gjallarhorn. How many people have hawkmoon?
-
Praetorian Foil is a rare gun. Gjallarhorn is far from a rare gun. The thing is, it's coveted. Not having one is much worse than not having a No Land Beyond - so the absence is noted more. That is a psychological effect, not a statistical one. With any low chance drop rate - there are those that are going to be blessed with getting it early for no reason, and there are those that are going to be screwed over for a long time - equally with no reason. That is a statistical effect.

Took me forever to get my first, yesterday i received my fifth Gjallarhorn......
-
Did the Nightfall with a friend earlier tonight and we BOTH got it! Couldn't believe it. Was his first, my second. We've both been playing since week 1, so yeah, they're pretty rare, unless they've just increased the drop rate!
-
Played since day 1. Nothing. My friend has played as much as me and has 4. He got two in the last week :(
-
Gallarhorn is probably my most used weapon but Qodron is still almost impossible with it.
-
Finally got mine from an engram last night, which came from a dragon strike. 500+ hours played. Feeling blessed. Praise be to RNGesus!
