So today, me and a buddy went into a normal game of Skirmish. We encountered a strategy that I've never seen before, we were against 3 Titans who were all running the defender subclass. They camped near the heavies the whole match and were able to have a constant bubble up the whole time, popping their heads out to fire rockets and able to hold rockets until the next heavy drop that they were guaranteed to get. I am not saying this is cheesing the crucible, but I will definitely say that it is abusing the mechanics of the game to play in an inherently boring way.
This isn't iron banner or something worth grinding, this was a normal crucible match intended for the fun of the game. Yet these guys still were choosing to play the match in such a silly way. I was not mad as much as I was surprised and baffled that someone would really have fun playing a game this way. The only counter possible would've been a Golden Gun, which we didn't have. I'm not here to degrade anyone who cheeses an encounter, but seriously? The Titans were not killing us in any skillful way whatsoever, simply popping bubbles and producing orbs from no kills and finally showing their faces when they had Gjallarhorn ammo.
My question is, do you guys think it is possible to cheese the crucible? Have any of you seen behavior like this before, if so what is your opinion on it? Do you use strategies like this? Comment below. I am completely against using strategies like this because they make the match no fun for anyone, they are an easy win strategy that no team should feel proud to use. Be a respectable player and fight your opponent legitimately, or take your loss and carry on. Humble yourself to potential loss instead of insuring an easy and monotonous win.
