Even better. AR's are still just as effective in PVE as they've ever been, if you know what you're doing. Now, a gun like Suros isn't a one-gun-wondertool that's effective at any range and in any situation. Slow ROF, High Impact AR's like Suros are now most effective at Mid-Range. High ROF, Low Impact AR's like Abyss Defiant are great for close-range, especially if you have a weapon with high stability so you can consistently land headshots.

  • TTK Auto V Any other primary, Auto loses that is all.

  • And? Problem is, it takes much more skill to use something like a Pulse Rifle or a Scout Rifle than an AR. So yeah, they might have a higher TTK on paper, but in practice it equals out.

  • How does it take more skill to use something else? Especially in PVE, you hit a body shot instead of a crit you hit 1/3 damage with auto. Scout rifle is around 1/2, it takes more skill to hit more head shots with an AR than a Scout. Look at grimoire stats, I'm not lying to you.

A body shot with a Scout Rifle only does 33% of the damage a headshot does. For an AR, a body shot does 41%. And it depends on the situation. If your in a relatively safe spot, yeah, it takes more skill to land a headshot with an AR. But that's hardly common in PVE. Most of the time your surrounded by hordes of enemies, and taking the time to line up that perfect shot can get you killed. With an AR, you point, shoot, and chances are, you are going to land a few headshots from a clip while you can keep on the move. You can't do the same with a Scout Rifle.

  • Really you don't have time to line up shots? NF's, Raids, Weekly's all about hitting crits with Scouts/HC's. This is endgame material I'm not speaking about the story you did at level 15.

  • Oh please. Do tell me how easy it is to line up a shot in Crota's End when you've got dozens of Thrall running at you from multiple directions in the Abyss, with a Knight charging in the background. I can think of several places in the raids, and especially in Nightfalls where you're swarmed by hordes of enemies in similar situations that make it difficult to land the precision shots needed to make Scout and Pulse Rifles effective.

  • It's pretty easy with Fatebringer, incredibly easy with any scout with firefly for the abyss, much more preferable to an auto. NF's typically involve players hiding do damage far away with long range scouts.

  • You do realize you went from talking about the time it takes to line up shots with a Scout Rifle, to how it's easy to deal with hordes using Firefly, a fairly rare perk. My point stands. It's more difficult to land a head shot with a Scout Rifle in most of the situations you run into during PVE than it is with an AR. As for Hand Cannons, they are a bit easier to use if you've got a good one with the right perks.

  • Rare but that is all that is used, you don't see firefly on a Auto Rifle, (for good reason), but they've effectively ruined AR's for PVE.

  • You don't see Firefly on AR's because they don't need it to deal with large groups of enemies. It's fairly easy to deal with hordes as long as you have one that's suited for the task. Abyss Defiant, for example, works wonders in the Abyss because of it's high ROF and great stability. I can chainsaw through waves of Thrall without a problem. It's not so great at mid-range, but that's what low ROF, high impact AR's like Suros are for. You say they've ruined it. I've primarily used AR's, and they still work great for me.
