Changing the subject, Holly asks Paul what he has been up to. He tells her that he's been writing more, and also gives her the good news that one of his stories sold. She congratulates him and says that they should celebrate with a drink or just a walk around the city. Paul says that he's never had champagne before breakfast, and Holly gets the idea that they should spend the day doing things that they had never before, taking turns as they go throughout New York City.
