I wonder if bungie ever thought that auto rifle are most used because people don't like smashing the trigger like the other weapons

This is literally the single biggest reason that I use them. When I got VoC, I didn't even touch an auto rifle for months. I have no interest in button mashing.

I believe most people use auto rifles because they are very common weapons in a lot of games. Thus making everyone feel more comfortable using auto rifles than the other weapons.
