Why is it that a huge majority of people aka the "Mainstream Audience" go for & support unoriginal garbage. There are reviews, facts, & articles stating how bad these products are but they still make millions & billions of dollars. Have we, as human beings, lost but an ounce of our brain matter these past years some how?

For example, the video game industry became a huge business practice of overpriced, microtransactional, repetitive products that overshadow the real beauty of storytelling & fun. It's such a shame.

Dumbed down products appeal more to a larger group of people. Lots of people are put off by more technical versions of products or ideas and aren't willing to invest their time into learning more about the product. Dumbed down things like superhero movies make much more money than their comic book counterparts. If you want to sell something, you have to make it inviting and not closed off. By the way, this has been the case for a very long time in many different areas of the market, it's not a recent phenomenon and it has certainly existed in video games for at least 15 years now.
