The gaming industry has aimed towards casual play. I'm not going to argue over wether or not that is a good thing. However, I remember the good old days... When gaming was difficult and if your character died you would drop all your gear onto the ground (original Diablo).
There's no point complaining about Xur. The damage is done. He has been handing out exotics since September. Bungie isn't going to remove him. Not only that, but the majority love Xur for selling exotics they haven't been lucky enough to get as drops.
