What the hell happened to Clash??
So, I hadn't played Clash in quite a long time. I enjoy the smaller gametypes much more, Skirmish, Salvage, Doubles. I decided to play a few games of Clash today and all I gotta say is.....what the -blam!-? I LITERALLY did not die to a single weapon other than shotguns. Even after all these nerfs, people are still just running around using ONLY shotguns? You would think that they would learn how to use a different weapon by this point, or at least stop complaining about the nerfs when it's literally the only weapon they use. 3 games, 18 players, not a single death by any weapon besides a shotgun. It was atrocious. It was like watching a bunch of toddlers running around with a toy that they didn't quite know how to use. Waiting for a primary-only gametype to bring some skill and strategy to this game <3.
EDIT: Since some people seem to have trouble reading, let me clarify....I ended up playing 8 games (Check my Human Titan), went an overall 1.96 K/D over the course of those 8 games. Nowhere did I say I died a lot to those shotguns, nowhere did I say I was getting owned or couldn't kill them, so please, get your facts straight before you comment saying things like "you're the one who lacks skill if you couldn't kill them". I'm simply pointing out that Crucible has turned into a bunch of newbs running around with shotguns trying to get no-skill kills. Do your homework before you make yourself look ignorant as shit.

I will agree. I'm a control And only dabble into the other modes when I feel like doing the bounties for them. Just did a couple for rumble and clash...and my goodness, so many shotguns. This is why I love the IB. You can't get away with that kind of crap there.

I haven't played much crucible besides IB. It seems likening play the same map 3-4 times in a row, get a new map and play it 3-4 times in a row. Then some of the lag and impossible behind a wall death from a fusion rifle 50 ft away is frustrating. It's sad because I love pvp game modes just no it worth it.

I actually agree... even though I have one, the fellwinter's lie has broken clash altogether. I have never seen so many people running and gunning in my life. I will admit it was fun though ----> can't beat them then join em lol. The hammer forged perk on that weapon makes it ridiculous.

That is why i learned how to stay away from corners and stay in relatively open areas. I play those types of games a lot and i hate it when i find out that the other team is running nothing but shot guns and don't use there primary.

People still use shottys because everyone else uses every other overused weapon in crucible still how about we dont use any weapons and just punch it out or have a dance off. #nerfeverything

2 RepliesAgreed. Please dont try rumble nowadays. Since the patch almost every player is a shotgunner. Its all creeping crouchers, blinkers and sliders. Its virtually unplayable. The range nerf hasnt changed anything. Still get 1 shotted from a way away.

Boxes are still there, don't see anyone running out of secondary ammo and they are still being used as primary. Your primary should be primary for a reason, there should never be infinite ammo running around so you can run your secondary as your primary.

5 RepliesYes, I agree there is little to no difference after the patch. According to the Dev Open House, they said they are still examining the "secondary weapon ammo economy," to quote them directly. But yes, shotguns and fusion rifles need to spawn with only the ammo directly in the magazine, and none in reserve; or even better a flat rate across all such gun types of 4 rounds and none in reserve. Some argued that secondary should not be available at the start of the match. I do not agree with this, as a secondary does need to be a valid second option. A 4 round flat rate would help with this. Then the amount of secondary on the maps needs to be further limited.

My theory: fusion rifles got significantly worse, and a fr player now had to choose between a sniper or shotgun. Frs are far more similar to shotguns, so it seems that most of them converted to shotguns

Yeah I noticed the same thing. I have two hypothesis. 1) people are trying to upgrade their shotguns for pve. 2) people remembered how much they like their shotguns while running train with them in pve and brought that play style back into their pvp lives. I admittedly grabbed my two in the morgue and joined the madness. If everyone is doing it, it's pretty fun.

Before this nerf I was strictly a Suros and corrective measure user. The middle slot was irrelevant. After the nerf, I cant return to my glory games. No more 36-5. I was so damn lost I didn't know how to adapt. I tried everything, even the god damn thorn (pre nerf I hated HCs, fusions and shotguns). Finally I was like -blam!- it and I switched to universal remote. It was okay. I went and bought a dead orbit shotgun and yeah now I'm a hiding-around-the-corner-tracker-stalking-shotgun-camping scrub. What else can I do bro they nerfed my gun to shit. Everyone was running around with shotguns so I had to adapt to survive. Now I finally know what a buckshot bruiser medal is lol

It's fun watching guardians sprint towards me as I'm killing them by 2-3 head shots with my NITC from hundreds of yards away. When I see everyone wielding shotguns on the map, that's when I know I have the upper hand. Range and accuracy trumps close quartered brawls. Not to mention, any super in the game.

Probably because shotguns require you to get a little closer now? It's kinda fun going shotgun to shotgun.
