Because Hunters are an offensive/scouting unit. They were doing there own things. And clearly the Warlocks and Titans could handle it.

No they couldn't lmao. If you read the lore, you would've known how many Guardians died at Twilight Gap. They were pushed back constantly by the House of Devils and the City almost fell.
