5 RepliesYeah, I've been dealing with this the NES on Final Fantasy games. The worst case was FF7. There I was with Knights of The Round, so proud and happy and so certain I was the only person on the planet to have it. Guys like you and me, we need exclusive video game content in order to feel worthwhile in life, amirite? But then I found out my cousin and a few buddies had it also. WTF!?! So right after finding out that more people than myself had the best item in the game I deleted my save file, called my best friend's mother a wh ore (she should've raised him better) and I haven't spoken to my cousin in over fifteen years. I mean jeez, why can't there be unique weapons and items for every single player in the game? And even if there's not, people should know better than to use the things we like.

Read the 1st 2 sentences. Immediately realized how stupid it was. I owned all the exotics In the game since December. And still hoping xur sells everything. Why? Because rng Is stupid and unfair. I hope xur sells my friends the exotics the need.

2 RepliesIt's not xur's fault exotics don't feel exotic. It's because the main way to earn exotics is random chance. It's because bungie limits their potential in fear of them being OP. and it's because there are not many exotics to begin with. In my ideal world exotics would be more powerful. Legendaries would be more legendary. The exotic vendor would only show on the weekends that the community passed the community goal. We'd have more exotics. The main way to earn an exotic would be through bounties. You'd earn the right to take a bounty by completing the nightfall for the week. Raid bosses would also have a unique exotic and a chance to drop the right to go after an exotic bounty. Nightfalls, strike bosses, end game content can still randomly give you an exotic. Xur would make exotics cost more on average. Xur also could "reforge" exotic armor and weapons for motes of light. You could also buy strange coins from him via a decent amount of glimmer. Lastly trading would exist. This way the game has an economy that gives things worth. The exotic vendor is "earned." And the main way for obtaining an exotic would be through the toughest content which is a story worth telling. No exotic would feel not like an exotic. As destiny currently is we need the vendor. Because the only other way is through random. And people dislike random enough. If the est gear was only obtained that way people would quit.

So, because you got lucky and got your exotic, you have an advantage versus other players and therefore you don't want Xur to make available exotics to others, otherwise your mediocre skills against people with now equal equipment will be exposed. That's a valid reason.

Im sorry but you didnt earn anything, people with 100 hours gameplay and have every gun, xur is a way for people who do not have good RNG to get some exotics, certain things should not be in loot table but seriously universal remote is useless anyway and HoPF is not that great only looks good because warlock exotic are mostly terrible

All I see is a bunch of wah wah wah. He had two exotics I didn't have and I was stoked!! I've grinded the shit out of this game and do nightfalls, raids, weekly strikes every week. I don't understand why it matters what other people have?

2 RepliesI do atheon HM, crota, nightfall, weeklys etc. every week and I still haven't gotten HoPF and ghorn. I think I deserve the HoPF. New guardians shouldn't have had accessibility to it, but that's just how xur goes. I'm happy xur sold it.

You are an idiot...it's like saying you "earned" you're lottery winnings. Some people have more chances the others because they run raids or nightfall more but all that gets you is a roll...don't think you earned anything because it took you more rolls to get something good...I have had good rolls and bad rolls. Bottom line if you don't like the game shut up and play something else

You're a piece a shit. Been playing since day one, but apparently I didn't run enough strikes and I'm a common folk. 250+ hrs (idk for sure) So get off your high horse about earning. You didn't earn shit, you GOT -blam!-ING LUCKY on a drop. You didn't do anymore than I did. I used to SOLO -blam!-ING NIGHTFALLS, so I did 100% dmg.... All to get rewarded with shards. Xûr is there for PEOPLE LIKE ME who WERE NOT LUCKY like you. Getting sick of the earning crap in a rng based mmo

I sort of see where you are coming from, because I feel the same way about the Crown of the Sovereign emblem. It will be a bitter sweet day when the queen's wrath comes back and I go from the only kid in town with that emblem to everyone and their mom has it because it now only takes 10 hours to get it and they wanted to rank up for that super sweet (whatever they will sell) anyway. I've never felt this way about weapons though. Maybe this is the difference between PvE and PvP players. Since I mostly play coop with people, if alot of people have a strong weapon, it makes my life alot easier. If I'm on a team with all G-Horn owners, crota is going down in zero time flat. The more people that could join a team and have that strong weapon, the better. Though in PvE there are also only two weapons that are that powerful (Gjallahorn and Ice Breaker). You don't really earn any gear in this game. You obtain it through luck, one way or another and so I don't really feel entitled to something just because it rolled in a chest, engram, drop, package or nightfall.
