I feel let down that Bungie does not want to make an app for Destiny in the Windows Phone platform. Yes, APIs are different for different platforms, and unlike the iPhone, Windows phones have a large breadth of hardware differences between different models, but the company has already made a version for Android, and the differences between Android phones are just as vast as those between high-end and low-end Windows Phones (they even share a model: the HTC One M8). I realize that making a new app is always hard work, and it adds a whole new platform to support for bug fixes and updates, but with Microsoft's Visual Basic 2013 software being free now, and coming with an optional plug-in for windows phone development during installation, and the Windows Phone's platform able to interpret various languages like C and visual C and C++ to enable better adaption from another platform like iPhone and Android, I see no reason why an app shouldn't be made and a portion of Bungie's fan base alienated.
While this didn't annoy me at first, the fact that the companion app can be so useful now, as in the video I've linked, makes me feel like I'm being cheated out of a form of base functionality. Also, from what I've seen, the Destiny companion App uses the same navigational form as almost all windows phones apps, which is scrolling left or right to access new pages rather than through links or menus.
I realize that Microsoft screwed up the paradigm of the relationship between itself and Bungie, and that this could highly influence any attempt to support Microsoft devices, but fans of Bungie do use the Windows Phone platform, myself included, and would love to be able to use Bungie's Destiny Companion app without having to buy a new Phone. I realize that this is asking for a lot, but as a die-hard Halo fan since I was five and it was released in 2001 (my parents were pretty chill about that kind of stuff) I'd really appreciate all major platforms being supported. The web app is functional, but not nearly as stable or responsive as the app would be. Thank you for taking the time to read this to anyone who managed to get through the whole thing, I hope you support this, and if Bungie is reading this, thank you for the consideration and the beautiful stories and worlds you've crafted for us over the years.

Can't you just use your browser on your phone until they make an app?

I couldn't agree more, and I will certainly take this in to consideration before purchasing any other Bungie or Activision titles in the future. I have been playing Destiny since the day it was released, and I have 3 different characters at lvl 32 (currently). It seems unreasonable to leave out the Windows Phone platform, especially since most of your game's backend is run on Microsoft networks. Please reconsider this decision while it is still relevant.
