Yay, designated tag to drop site feedback. Just some oldies but goodies.
TITLES PL0X
Oh and stickies
Annnnddd more group features (the return of old ones like custom group titles)
And the cherry on top, dark theme so I don't have to wear sunglasses.
I'm assuming everything above is well known to be desired but it doesn't hurt to repeat.
I'd like for a more forum-y feel to return. The tag system is great for organizing but it's more of an information dump than a forum. I feel like this issue would be resolved if there were title bars and thicker borders separating comments. I used to enjoy scrolling through threads on b.old, reading all the comments. Now I kinda just enter the thread, read the OP, post a simple comment and leave. There isn't much engagement because the atmosphere doesn't really encourage it. However I must admit this has slowley but surely been improved since the new site launched. It just hasn't gotten there yet. Say what you will about the old site I felt like it was Bungies home...b.next is more like destinyLFGandNEWS.net. Which is great for destiny, but not great for developing loyal fans. The reddit is a better forum than Bungie's own official site (sorry, the atmosphere is just a lot more friendly and inviting). To clarify, the new Destiny fans aren't really being converted into Bungie forum regulars...just destiny players. Which is why fun community events are spammed with complaints and..well...junk. People just see this site as a place to dump hate and complaints, not a home that some of us have spent years enjoying.
Moderation is getting there but still lacks. The rules have to be in your face. Publicly displayed and enforced (locked threads for example). All the moderation is behind the scenes. Locked threads gave good examples of what not to post and created good signals. I feel LFG spam that basically destroyed a large portion of this site for months could have been avoided with swifter, louder, moderation. Comparing reach newbies to destiny newbies, b.old had stickied rules and locked topics that kept much of the spam at bay. Of course LFG is a beast of its own but it can be tamed, which recent movements to control it have proven (like gaming being a useable tag again).
That's all for now

Honestly I miss the old Bungie.net, you hit the nail on the head
