OK, let´s proceed.
Every time there is a debate about subclasses and Arc Blade comes across, the usual comment posted by Hunters is "this Super takes skill".
Yet here is what you can usually see from a Hunter in Arc Blade mode: dudes spamming R1 buttons to let the game direct the attacks for them at superspeed, making almost no effort (and with no skill in it) to actually reach their target.
The problem with Arc Blade is the overall balance: no other subclass has that sum of prolongued damage resistance (Strikers and Voidwalkers only get that for a second), multiple kill potential and speed/mobility. We are talking about a subclass that can cross most maps faster than anyone else, being able to take huge doses of firepower and still stand (we are talking about rockets-to-the-face damage)... And with the right perks, regenerating all life and shields per kill, frustrating every attempt to take them down.
The speed, resistance and damage potential overall combo is simply unmatched.
This wouldn´t be such a problem if it was easier to evade them, especially when you encounter a Bladedancer in Arc mode and there is no one to support you. But what happens?
R1, R1, R1, R1, R1.... Dozens of players spam the melee button and get a free mobility burst that autotargets, and that even allows them to dash in mid-air, making an escape nigh-impossible. "My subclass takes skill". Yeah... ehm, how is that skilled playing?
From my own uses of a Hunter in Arc Blade mode, I have found all of these bits to be true. So I am not only talking about this from my perspective as someone facing Arcbladers, but also from my own.
So here is my proposal to fix the Sonic The Hedgehog mode, putting Arc Blade more in line with the other supers:
- Increase the fraction consumed by every melee press during Arc Blade. Even if it´s a small 10-7%. But it consumes a teeny bit more per R1 use.
Look at the Gunslinger. He gets 3 shots(4 with the symbionte) but if a shot misses, he doesn´t get a second chance. Meanwhile the Arc Blader is able to spam the melee attack everywhere (the same attack that can restore all life if the perk Hungering Blade is used, remember that).
By implementing this change, some players will not be able to spam R1 to speed across the map, with auto-target so they don´t even have to approach the victim strategically to get a kill. You want the kill? Blink. Use invisibility. Approach from corners. But WORK for it, scrubbie.
Smart and truly skilled players will still be able to get their kill streaks. Cheap players will be the only ones affected.

Keep whining. I'm loving it.
