I'm looking forward to completing the nightfall this week. Why?
1. Thank Christ it's not Omnigul.
2. No burns actually make the strike challenging and more interesting.
3. It provides a bit more of exclusiveness for the players who are actually skilled enough to complete the strike with having to rely on a specific kind of weapon or have a buff.
Just wanted to put a little bit of positive feedback on the forum, but as I'm sure there will be some form of criticism, I'm interested to know what that is and why some people have posted that a no burn nightfall is "disrespectful."
More difficult? Yes. Disrespectful? What the f*ck? Remember, the rewards are supposed to be for the ones skilled enough to obtain them, not an easy handout.
Edit 1: Obviously I know that actual in game skill has nothing to do with the drops people get. What I meant by "being skilled enough to obtain them" was that people need to have enough skill to complete the challenge.
Edit 2: This post was never about the kind of loot that people actually obtain through the nightfalls. My original question was why people think it's disrespectful to create a difficult strike when the game is all about completing difficult tasks for a chance at good loot.
I'm not an idiot, I know the RNG sucks in Destiny. Im just curious as to why people want to bypass the actual gameplay to obtain them. (cheesing, easy strikes that can be done quickly, etc.)
Because this game, and more importantly, the people behind it suck.

Edited by Devilsmirk: 2/25/2015 10:22:53 PMThe reason anyone wants to bypass the nightfall challenge, is because the RNG system is horrible. Spending all that time in a strike you've played many times over just to get say 9 strange coins, or ascendant material. Just not worth the effort when it's easily farmed/obtained other ways. The only part of it that's somewhat worthwhile is the experience bump, but then that's assuming you're leveling gear. EDIT: Personally I like having the burns. Adds a huge lethality to the strikes. Lots of one hit kills coming to you/going from you.

I agree everyone keeps whining about the game and wanting to nerf or buff everything so the game will be a easy little kids game Of course I'm upset that the game wasn't what it was set out to be but it is still a fun great game
-
I don't know why people are complaining anyways since launch this strike hasn't had a burn ever
-
Well if my fun and challenging, you mean grinding for an hour against that bullet sponge, then sure, have fun buddy. Burns to me add more excitement and challenge because I can be killed easier so I need to watch myself, however I can also enjoy demolishing them just as well. It's the high stakes rush that keeps me doing the night falls
-
Dont care for challenging and interesting on the same strikes weve been playin for months.

There are so many complaints because millions of copies of Destiny have been sold and it's a type of game that lends itself to forum posting. This game has a massive target audience spanning multiple game types (FPS, RPG, MMO ...etc) and there isn't really a direct competitor to compare/contrast this game to. Everquest was great because it was everything Ultima Online wasn't (IMO!) and WoW was great because it was a huge upgrade of the EQ experience. Destiny on the other hand has to have better PvP than Halo/CoD, Better loot than most MMO's or maybe Borderlands series and yet still accomplish this on a console which is for the most part an industry first. You factor all that with the development issues the game had which led to cut content and story line changes and you get a mixed bag of awesome moments and things that make you say WTF is that there for?
-
Still can solo, not much of a challenge
-
I had no idea people where calling it disrespectful. What does that even mean?
-
To answer why cheese? It's how humans do everything. You want the most return for the least amount of effort. Maximize profits.
-
It's more that the playerbase is unaware of the fact that the Weekly/Daily modifiers are randomized to an extent. I'm more miffed that this is another Cabal strike with Angry. The Phalanx spam is Dark Souls levels of irritating, where it doesn't do anything but annoy you. Dealing with a Phalanx with Angry is most efficiently done by ignoring it, and that's rather frustrating considering the things are snipers when they drop their shield on the ground and 'hunker down.' And yes, I'm aware you can just walk around them and shoot them. Doing so, however, is notably less feasible when Valus Ta'***lick is capable of killing you in a second with his minigun and rocket-stomp. It's more efficient to just pour bullets into the boss until he falls over than it is to deal with adds.

"Challenging" without the burns.... No. Removing the burns just makes me take an extra 10 minutes or less to complete the Nightfall and no Nightfall strikes don't require any more skill than doing it at low level with a low level character.
-
No challenge or skill required to do the Nightfalls or Weeklies. Burn or not. Boring. Its the same stuff, same pattern, every week just one of 4 bosses 6 times over, yawn. Note. I say 4 bosses, can't seem to remember anything but Archon Priest, Nexus, Omnigul and Valus Ta'aurc. Oh yeah just remembered Septik Tank. Gee there's a challenge.
-
people complain because there sense of entitlement's ridiculous. I think bungie's been getting burn happy with the Nightfall anyway...
-
Burn or no burn i do it but my god the omnigul one is annoying. Omnigul is the only nf i think should always have a burn. As for the rewards idk what ur smoking bro but i never get any good drops. I got 11 useless shards from nf this week. All that effort for bullshit, i say they need to fix the damn rewards.
-
People are pussies and just look for things to complain about. They now have weekly match making and no more heavy ammo vanishing so now the new thing is to bítch about nightfall burns Bunch of losers on here who just like to bitch about the game
-
You are correct that it is supposed to be a challenge. But burns do make it more fun in my opinion. Also I like the Omnigul strike ....until I reach the end. The end is just poorly designed. I would rather fight on that hill before that small ass box of a room. And yes there are some rewards that make no sense what so ever. The ability to get less strange coins then a heroic weekly on max difficulty is just -blam!-ing wrong!!!! It's a nightfall for Christ sakes. Ever heard of more risk, more reward? Just my $0.02.
-
Yeah omnigul fûcking blows when I killed her i screamed suck on the Gjallarhorn fûcking cûnt seriously that strike is the worst of the worst.
-
This one is easy as hell lol
-
The game is straight ass to answer your question.
-
I've stopped doing the Nightfalls, I only ever get Ascendant Energy from them...... waste of time for 10-16 Energy
-
Disagree with your position about the lack of burn meaning you need to be skilled to complete this Nightfall. Please remember, burn is a two-way street.
-
How is it not interesting with no burns? It's just a level 30 strike with crap ton of buffs done to the enemy it's boring and long hardly interesting but you get a Chance for a good reward
-
You got to remember that this is coming from people that think a 2% damage reduction is going to "wreck" the game. When all it means is one extra bullet for every 50 fired to make up the damage lost on the debuff.
-
No burn this week is ok. Its not Took me 15-20 Minutes for each run. But nighfalls With a burn activated is more Fun and i Hope There will be ark burn next week..maybe the Nercochasm will make some dmg than xD
-
As much as I hate doing this strike, I really love the action in the strike
