So I spend ages grinding the IB to reach rank 5 for a scout rifle that is basically useless in the Crucible.
Sure the impact is high, but the rate of fire is so pathetic that it makes this gun almost worthless in PvP.
The gun seriously needs a buff to the rate of fire. My sniper fires faster than this hunk of junk.
Edit 1: I guess I'm just used to using the Mida - a gun which rocks in PvP.
Edit 2: A lot of the comments say that it is a solid PvE weapon though. :-)
-
3 shot kill in PVP is not bad
-
Mida actually kills slower than gheleons with critical shots, but kills faster with body shots. Ttk for gheleons doing all crit is .8 second for all body ttk is 1.6. Mida kills in all crits in .9 second and 1.5 body. Just depends on play style, mida might feel better because you can spam a lot of shots at people, but if you use the gheleons like you would a handcannon it's viable especially if you keep distance.
-
There's people who prefer high-rate of fire scouts with low impact, My favorite of these scout rifles is the Mida. However, my favorite overall scout rifle class is the high-impact low-rate of fire. Sure it feels slow, but I always aim for crit spots and when I hot those crit spots I want it to hit like a truck. So my favorite gun before the Dark Below was released, was the GD. It's all on preference though, if you don't like it then use something else. I wouldn't mind a buff on an already awesome gun.

It's for PvE. Scout rifle fatebringer
-
You should try the Saterine Rapier. It has basically the same perks. Only differences are ROF and impact. SR has higher ROF but a little lower impact.
-
My high impact and low rate of fire badger DOMINATED the iron banner. 3 shot headshot, easy to land too. Also max range makes it a sniper across the map doing full headshot damage.
-
Fangs the best for pvp
-
I got firefly and explosive rounds... It's owns PVE definitely not a PVP gun
-
It hits 666 on normal enemies and 420 on majors.
-
I always did fine with it in crucible. It's not meant for close engagements. I use it like I would use a sniper and carry a solid fusion (plan c or PI for example) and wrecked face with it well enough.
-
It favors the accurate, 3 headshot kill. That's as good as it gets with a primary :)
-
I think badger ccl with exploding round is better :) or sat rapier with high rof and reload
-
I've been doing much better with it in PvP than my other scout rifles. Probably because the others are low impact but high fire rate. I guess Gheleon is just more suited to my playstyle.
-
Yeah, it would have been cooler if the IB scout was more like the Mida. A Legendary Mida would be amazing!
-
I love my Gheleon's Demise but yeah would never use it in the crucible, it's my go to scout for PvE though on my hunter.

Edited by Mike-MF-Hall: 2/24/2015 4:43:30 AMYeah, no bueno in pvp. Timurs Lash is nearly the same RoF and can kill in 2 headshots Sweet in pve tho.
-
I love my timurs lash for pvp. GD is for pve tho. I have the best roll on mine for pve two (:
-
I mainly got GD for my collection of Scouts. My "Another NitC" is better than Ghelion's Demise. But as always, there's no Scout in the game better than my MIDA. Love my MIDA.
-
I love mine so much I bought a 2nd one for my other character. It feels really nice to use, there are a few guns in the game that just work nicely. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what it is about these few weapons but Gheleon's Demise is one of them. Other guns with that sort of feeling was The Devil You Know & Shadow Price. Unfortunately I used all of my glimmer buying them so have no money for the upgrades.
-
Probably good in pve with firefly
-
Low RoF Highest Impact Longest Range Instead of sitting back and picking your targets like a baby sniper rifle, you're probably running think it's The Matrix. You even said in another post you use the MIDA. That's the total opposite of Gheleon...it's designed for movement. Demise is designed for pinpoint targeting at range, away from the danger that you're suffering from due to it's low RoF. Translation: Nothing's wrong with the gun. As per usual, it's the operator's shortcomings...not the weapon. Sorry if it didn't make you the unstoppable killing machine you thought it would, but clearly you've been using it wrong.
-
I love it tbh!
-
Could have just bought a Badger instead.
-
Buy the saterienne rapier the crucible quartemaster sells. It has firefly and outlaw and a good RoF too.
-
I did the same. What sucks is leveling to 5 and having to grind glimmer for hours to get items. Im not looking for s hand out but exclusion zone gets old as fu(k when you need to do it for everything. On a good note at least I got shaders, engram, & class item to start out next one with. I thought the shotty sucks. Pretty much you got one shot or your dead. Shoots slower than death and I -blam!-ed up my roll on it and lost auto. I'm assuming auto would make it fire faster or am I wrong? You get a lash this time? Out of about 60 runs I got a rocket launcher and ship and that was it. Saw last work, suros, and IB go to other players :(

Edited by Dreamicide: 2/24/2015 12:47:11 AMI have to agree about the fire rate... I was patrolling the moon with a friend who was leveling his new character and he killed a captain in about 5 seconds with a fast firing gun... I was all like "dang lemme check out what auto rifle he has" and it was an uncommon Scout rifle that was 2 1/2 faster than the gheleons demise
