Right, so a little moan...
I started the nightfall with two level 32s yesterday using my level 28 Titan after being invited due to them getting sent to orbit 4 times (which is a little pathetic for level 32s) now I am not going to lie, I got around 90 assists and only 50 kills to each of their 100+ kills but there were a handful of occasions (lets say between 5 and 7) that I ended up being the last guardian and having to revive them both (due to their non-tactical gameplay) so although i didn't have the biggest part within the fireteam I would like to think that we can all agree if my little level 28 titan wasn't there, then again they would have returned to orbit.
Now this wouldn't have usually bothered me but I needed to do the nightfall with this character and I put in over an hour trying to do so with these guys when just before Omnigul was about to be killed (after her last scream and once the wave of hive had been killed) I was removed from the fireteam, a little harsh we can all agree.
Now I am sure this has happened on many occasions to many people but I just think Bungie need to patch this so the fireteam leader cannot remove anyone after they have reached to "big boss" stage, I know people are going to say "what if they leave and they are inactive?" or "what if they are so terrible at the game it makes it harder for the fireteam?" my answer to that would be a 2 min inactivity boot and you got this far with this useless teammate, pick better allies next time. Also, people are going to say "what about people who join the fireteam just before we complete it and we can't boot them so they get rewarded for our hard work?" my answer, like the cutoff for booting, have the same cutoff for joining.
Agree?

This has happened to me on a Nightfall. I looked for a group and explicitly told them that my character was low level and could give some support (revives and what not) but wouldn't do much in terms of firepower, but wanted to try the challenge. Everyone agreed and we were off, just to be kicked during the last sliver of health of the final boss. And Bungie thinks that teaming up and strategizing instead of matchmaking would somehow prevent these things from happening...

Edited by Bushido: 2/23/2015 5:17:49 PMif you truly got 54 kills.. then it was a 30 (might have 32 armor off) and a 32 therefore the PSNs are Hodgeifier Ninja_Salmon_v2 which was fireteam leader? haha edit: Hodgeifier was the douchebag

I would rage hard , Avoid random people . Make friends form your own clan Win
-
Hah you got #rekt

Bungie should put a time limit on it at the start so say you start a nightfall with friends or randoms from the time you start it should have a timer say 5 or 10 minutes and so within that time you can kick any afk or anyone else if you like but it should remove the option to kick people after its timed out

Happened to me on a Heroic. Had ran a Nightfall with two guys, then we started the weekly. When Omni was about dead, I got kicked so their clanmate could join. No warning at all.

Edited by Tiingy: 2/23/2015 4:01:42 PMI always do the nightfall with randoms from LFG then boot them at the end to get my girlfriend in so she can get rewards Play smarter not harder :)
-
No worries they got 12 ascendant shards each
-
Just had the same thing happen to me, Lvl 30 Titan and I got kicked with the nightfall boss at half health so that apparently one of their clan mates could drop in to reap the benefits. Total bull***t. Bungie definitely needs to fix this.
-
I always need nightfall teams BC my clan does it at reset and I have a job... I play xb one and 360...add me, I never boot people...
-
God dammit why do people have to be such -blam!-ing assholes. I would have reported him.
-
Solution- always host, that way you cant get kicked. Problem solved

Edited by K4BL4MM0: 2/23/2015 6:30:58 PMI've inly ever kicked one or two people from a nightfall before. I remember one very well. I hosted and invited 2 randoms. One was a mature fellow who was a good player, the other was a kid with a squeaky voice (you know the type) who joined halfway through, and I told myself I'd put up with him if he held his own. I judge gamers by their attitudes and choices, not their age or voice. So we make our way down the cave to nexus mind Sekrion, and well ahead of time I tell the guys were going to stay on the cliff. Myself and the other mature guy stay on the cliff, but the kid says "hey I know a hiding spot but it's tough to get to." He then jumps off the cliff, dies from the fall and says, "I'll be right back, don't res me." "Don't worry, I won't", I said. -player has been removed from the fireteam- We then killed the boss, just the 2 of us, from the cliff. I didn't fee he deserved nightfall rewards for a stunt like that which made him useless to the team. Edit: moral of the story. Always host. You can always find people who want to join you, and you have the power.

I got kicked as i launched the final blow out of HoC technically i won but left before she died

I had 2 dudes kick me so their clan member could join. Worst part is they started openly talking about it before it happened. They were like "dude, you'd better hurry up and sign in because Sepiks is nearly dead ... Yeah, I'll kick him as soon as you get into Destiny"
-
I was invited to a nightfall once, then joined 2 30s while I was 32. They kicked me within 1 minute of joining. I have absolutely no idea why.
-
Dude, I feel pretty bad for you, if you play on 360 then I will help you do nightfalls
-
It's your fault for not being the proper level so ahahahah

Lets look at it this way, Bunjie has one of two (most likely) answers to this problem: 1) Remove the Power: the simplest of the two and easiest. They have the feature (or lack there of) in every ROC Strike and lower where even though you're in a fireteam, no one is fireteam leader. "But the involves matchmaking" you all whine? It doesn't have to. The feature can be disabled just for the specific event if need be. 2) Didn't like the first one? No probs, I always have tricks up my sleeve. Lets face it, you're close to the boss but the guys you're partnered with are starting to get annoying or found a nice hole in the hole to "chill" at. Are you in a darkness zone yet? No? Vote to kick his ass. It's not fair to be kicked when you're knee deep in darkness shit, so I propose we have a V2K feature ONLY while outside of a darkness zone. These areas are meant to give players a little breather for the next part anyway so no real opportunity is missed. You got a better idea? Lets hear it. These are the only two that make sense to me.

how about you go join up with them again this coming week, except that you are then the host....... do the same, just kick them just before the end, close your fireteam, and then kick them out of your friendslist........ karma is a b*tch....

Edited by Disco: 2/23/2015 10:50:09 PM
which is a little pathetic for level 32s
That's where I stopped reading. You're a punk and probably deserved to get the boot. Having said that, what they did was ****ty.

This is exactly why I don't like to play with randoms. I'm not saying that all people are like this, but when I have no other choice, I prefer to be the fireteam leader.

Like Zenosin said, they should make that people can't kick / join while in combat (this would also fix the go to orbit and back in to get rezed to avoid being pushed to orbit) I would also add an automatic kick for inactivity (for instance triggered if the player does not move in the next 30sec of having been reported for inactivity)
