How does it feel? I'm honestly very upset. Once it drops I won't be able to duo it with one friend now (or solo), we have to:
1) drag a horrible player through
2) deal with an afk player
3) ugh
What do you guys think? I want an optional no matchmaking button. Is it that hard?

Edited by ubn: 2/20/2015 6:23:50 AMI hate it. You just listed the reason why I don't do roc anymore. The same will go for weekly. This feature should be optional, could that have bin so hard? But I shouldn't be affected by this. We are always 3 for weekly. And nf can still be soloed.
-
Why do you people say this! Just go in with two friends, have them leave, and hope the game doesn't make someone join you!
-
How do you have to drag a bad player through? The bad player is getting shot at, which means that's fewer enemies shooting at you. Also, more players, easier strike, as per a few updates ago. People need to just be honest and admit they don't like this because they just don't like to have to play with people they don't personally approve. Nothing wrong with that, just don't use bad excuses.
-
People actually do that? Why? If the guy is afk, then it's the same as soloing. If he sucks, don't revive. That simple.
-
Pissed off.
-
"STOP AFKING IN WEEKLY. IF YOU'RE GOING TO BE AFK FOR MORE THAN 5 MINUTES JUST LEAVE." Be ready for these threads. You asked for this people.
-
Honestly I can't wait for the change! On Tuesdays I sometimes have a lot of trouble getting friends to do the weekly with me on account of them raiding and my limited time to play.
-
Very good point and valid concern. I often wish the strike playlists had this option as well. OPTIONAL matchmaking would be the ideal solution to strikes, weeklies, nightfalls and even raids. Heck, throw it on dailies and story missions if you'd like.
-
I like that it's matchmaking, but honestly if there's an AFK just leave straight away. Also I usually do it with friends so it doesn't bother me too much.

Edited by H1jAcK: 2/20/2015 6:20:37 AMI welcome this. I use #recruitment every week to run the nightfall and heroic, this will make it easier for me. Though, the option to go in solo/with one friend should still be a thing. Bungie needs to realize, too, that giving players options is always a good thing.
-
First we get afk'ers in tiger strike. Then in roc strikes. And now weekly strikes? Whats next, nightfall with 2 afk'ers?
-
Hopefully it's optional to do. Otherwise I will be doing a lot less weeklies.
-
You don't have to deal with an afk player, if they die they die, if they don't participate you don't have to look at them, at the end screen your rewards have nothing to do with your performance or theirs. It's all about the randomness. I'm sure Bungie has thought about afk and has a plan, after all, you can't stay connected if you don't do something every few minutes.
-
Is it really that big of a deal? If you get two other people with you, doesn't that inherently make it easier? And if they don't help, so what? It's not like you couldn't do it before.
-
The fun of soloing is GAAAAAAAANE
-
1. Find 2 players on your friends list 2. Kick them after you start 3. Solo the strike
-
This is great news. Sure you can two man it but even a subpar player will provide additional dps and make the run faster.
-
So easy this week with that back room cheese. I thought it was going to be a drag, but nope! Abyss Defiant FTW
-
OK, what did I miss?
-
I kinda like it. I mean nightfalls u can still solo if u want...right?
-
I think the main problem will be level 27/8/9 doing it who don't have any idea what they are doing and akfers
-
Might meet some good people, might meet some assholes. Toss of a coin. Hopefully they use their mics tho
-
Then play with friends go pick up people from Lfg. Problem solved
-
good one less thing i need lfg for
-
It'll be alright. Weekly Heroic isn't serious enough for one bad player to become that much of a liability, imo. There should be an option, yes, but the matchmaking is going to be an improvement. One less thing I have to use LFG sites for.

Who cares if someone sucks or goes AFK? It won't matchmake if you have a full fireteam already. If you don't run with a full fireteam anyway, it makes no difference in what you normally do if they're AFK or suck. Sounds to me like you're just annoyed that someone might leech off of you, which makes zero difference in your game. So again, why do you care?
