Help?! Garry's mod not working?

it keeps failing to load, saying i don't have direct x 9.0c and to install it. i already have direct X11.2 as part of windows, and it should be backwards compatible.. how do you fix this?

But I'm pretty sure if you left click on gmod in ur library and change the format settings that will do it but again long time bro just use steam forums
