Tower is at Colonia Tovar (in Venezuela)

UPDATE 2/18/15 This post was acknowledged and given a shout out by Bungie's new Lore Master, John Ryan! He called the deductions in the post "impressive"! Check it out here: https://twitter.com/John_J_Ryan/status/567505564066799617?s=17 Bungie- When I start talking about the mysteries of the game on chat, people stop nit picking the game and get really quiet and interested. The Tower is in Venezuela at the site of Colonia Tovar, a 19th Century German settlement that still exists today. It's actually been scientifically proven the Tower is in the Southern Hemisphere (the shadows on the ground move counter clock wise) How could the Cryptarch have coffee in Russia? You think he gets it from Amazon.com? We also know the Tower is very close to the equator because the sun is below the horizon nearly exactly the same amount of time it is above it. I found the Easter egg you (Bungie) put on Colonia Tovar's Wikipedia page. 5 is the missing number. Gregor Rasputin was the 5th of NINE children. Again... When I start talking about Colonia Tovar, the Easter egg on its Wikipedia page, other aspects of the mystery like the significance of the 3 pyramids of Giza, people stop complaining about their own little pet peeves with the game and get real quiet and and hang on every word. (This even happened during a particularly pissed off party after all the upcoming weapon changes were announced). When I can show people how many times the 3 pyramids are repeated in the game (and the tower alone not to mention warlock, Hunter, and Cryptarch emblems and the 3 pyramids on many ships including Aspect of Glass. If it looks like Adidas stripes it's actually the 3 pyramids), the ferns in the tower (we're not in Russia anymore, Dorothy) the Fallen being present in Egypt and Caracas (Colonia Tovar), the crest of the City of Colonia Tovar and the banner for House of Winter and all the TEMPORAL CAUSALITY LOOP (Rasputin did it) stuff.... They love it. They can't get enough. I believe I'm the first one to find the Easter Egg on Colonia Tovar's Wikipedia ("12346789 which number is missing?"), and I really don't see anyone else putting it all together the way I am. (It was there, it was removed yesterday by someone in Indiana, you can see that here: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/644365610 So, I think you should take someone on a Destiny: Mysteries & Legends RIDE ALONG. (I wouldn't say no :-) People would love it. Colonia Tovar is 25 miles from Caracas (Cryptarch: "House of Winter found at the Ruins at Caracas. Were they there at the collapse?") It is a settlement of people from Germany and maintains its German identity hardcore. It's called "The Germany of the Caribbean" (Cryptarch: "You don't speak pre-golden age German, do you Guardian? No, no one does.") It was originally a coffee plantation. (Cryptarch: Can't stop now. Can't stop now. More coffee.") The Cryptarch's Grimoire Card says "listen careful to his murmerings....he may be the first to understand") Colonia Tovar is mainly known for 2 things: It's steadfast hold on its German identity, and its annual festival honoring the French Saint Martin De Tours. Saint Martin was the patron saint of...(wait for it) TRAVELERS. He also had a "Legendary Cloak" and was associated with the Trinitarians. Their symbol, the Shield of the Trinity, can be seen on the floor tiles in the Speakers Observatory. Does Colonia Tovar fit with the geography we see around the Tower? From Wikipedia: "The Colonia Tovar is located almost 2,200 m above sea level, in the central coastal mountains of the Venezuelan Coastal Range. It is connected with Caracas and La Victoria by road. Its climate is temperate mountain with daily thermal amplitudes of about 8 °C (46 °F), with a mean of 16.8 °C (62 °F), and frequent mists, especially at dawn and evening." ADDITION: A lot of people have asked to flesh out the ancient Egyptian facet of the mystery a little more here so here it is: I believe the story will involve ancient Egypt. The 3 Pyramids from Giza are everywhere in the game as is mentions of Osiris. Osiris was a Egyptian deity. Read Osiris's Wikipedia: "was an Egyptian god, usually identified as the god of the afterlife, the underworld and the dead. ...Osiris was considered not only a merciful judge of the dead in the afterlife, but also the underworld agency that granted all life, including sprouting vegetation and the fertile flooding of the Nile River. He was described as the "Lord of love",[8] "He Who is Permanently Benign and Youthful"[9] and the "Lord of Silence".[10] The Kings of Egypt were associated with Osiris in death — as Osiris rose from the dead they would, in union with him, inherit eternal life through a process of imitative magic." Wikipedia then goes on to say: "Through the hope of new life after death, Osiris began to be associated with the cycles observed in nature." (Rasputin's Temporal Causality Loop he's put our solar system into) The Cryptarch talks about the Great Pyramid at Giza and how it's so amazing it faces true north and that how crazy it is the Egyptians made that calculation when they did. Ultimately, I believe it will unfold that the Fallen were in ancient Egypt, look at Egyptian hieroglyphics that have the wolf faced humanoids and then look at a Fallen Captain.
