Since this is social game, why wouldn't people who spent a lot of time grinding for gear want to show off to others?
Of course because of RNG there will always be those off guardians that get good items with little work. Also there will be those who put in massive time and don't get what they want.
However, bottom line is people who play more often give themselves more chances for loot.
I know Xur will always exist so this is no petition. I don't have a problem with Xur and have bought from him. I just don't understand why some people have an issue with Xur not selling certain exotics? Is nothing sacred?
I think certain exotics should be excluded from his loot table. I also don't support trading for many of the same reasons.
TL;DR
It's ok to want special snowflake status because it is a way of showing dedication to the game.

Most of us don't have a problem with people wanting to be different, to look different, to stand out. It's how people choose to go about it that pisses us off. Part of it is the limited visual differences, 32s all basically look the same because only one set of armor can get you there (thank you so much whiny raiders) So the only way they can feel different is to have things other people don't, like Gjallarhorn, etc. Then it's not "I want to look different" It's please don't let other players have this nice gun because then I won't feel special Being a special snowflake through denying other gamers gear. The solution to which is 1. Lots more gear choices to get to max level 2. Cosmetic slots so the massive amount of green/blue armor skins can be used to increase visual diversity 3. Better shader variety/lots more shaders

Because the Destiny community is completely idiotic, most having a finger impediment that only allows them to type 2 words.

The movie "fight club" sums it up the best

Shut up Meg.

I think if xur only showed up on weekends when the community passed a certain community goal people wouldn't have such a big issue. Also it's kind of hard to be special in a game that doesn't have much end game gear. We will probably see snow flake status after all the dlc has dropped.

I like you logic but diss agree with the trading cuz I've gotten several sets of raid gear while people that don't have time to play are only missing one or two prices I would be more than happy to trade if I could

Edited by Swiftlock: 2/19/2015 11:22:42 PM"Special snowflake" items should never consist of equipment that can dramatically alter how you play the game. I'm not saying Xur should hand everyone Gjallarhorns, but having to fight a random number generator for months upon months just to find a specific exotic is just poor game design.

Shameless bump

Hell even the marketing said "become legend".
