You are truly showing your ignorance now.. "Truly randomized" does not mean you get something different each time. You ABSOLUTELY would expect duplicates in a random system. Now, I agree some items might be weighted. That's still random, though. However, your notion that the game purposefully locks you out of the gun you are wanting is absurd. You have just as much of a chance of getting an Ice Breaker out of the Gorgon chest as you had the last time you looted the Gorgon chest. I've already had my statistics course in college - years ago. Have you, kid? Because it doesn't sound like it.

 • No, truly randomized means you have an equally probable occurrence from each item in the sequence. My gripe isn't that I get duplicates, those are expected-its that Destiny does not have an equally probable RNG loot system for all the exotics, that makes frustration, especially after you play for awhile, trust me, you'll find the exact same subset of duplicates after you hit a certain point.

 • That is not the definition of random. Never has, never will be. If I put 8 red marbles in a bag and 4 blue ones, you're more likely to draw a red one but your blind choice is still random.

 • Right, but now you're talking about the probability of getting a certain item-in that case you have sequence S={R,R,R,R,R,R,R,R,B,B,B,B}, with Random(S) there's an equally probable chance to select any single item from the sequence. In this case the probability to get Red is twice that of blue. But that's different, that's the probability, or in this case the drop rate, which is usually assumed to be given...that's what I'm basing my tin foil hat theory on, that the probability is not the same for each exotic, thus when Bungie says "it's randomized", they're not lying, just withholding how it works.
