With that obvious disclaimer out of the way, i can now say this: the veiws and opinions used/stated in the video are exactly the same as mine (but are NOT my real opinions. see disclaimer above for explanation.) Angry Joe is, in my personal opinion, a great individual whom i find myself agreeing with a large number of his statements/opinions. Not all of them, as people are different, but a large majority of them. like a good 90ish percent. Anyway, he's a great guy and i usually hit up his site if i'm in the market for a new game and want an accurate review that gives both the good and the bad, unlike many of the "reveiws" shown off in commercials and other media/websites (outside of Angry Joe, i also just check out the comments on the gameplay videos on Youtube.). Also, i could say the same for the group who makes the HonestTrailers videos. Now with that legal BS there to cover my posterior in the event that Bungie (*cough*Activision*cough*) tries to pull some legal crap cuz its not my video i linked. Anyway, my apologies for the boring fluff and fanboying (not fangirling, there's a difference. Mainly less verbal shrieking and more internal shrieking.). On with the complaints! (which i'm willing to bet will never see the light of day after this, let alone a reply.) First and foremost, i would like to extend my thanks towards the team at Bungie, for finally developing a game for us Playstation users. When it comes to gameplay, Destiny has no peers. The character is responsive and this, mixed with the weapons obtained throughout the game, make your character feel like a seasoned monster-slaying, gun-toting badass. The graphics are glorious (at least they were on the beta... why is it that the beta had better graphics on ps3 than the actual full retail game?), and enemies are evil-looking enough to fit the bill. That being said, Destiny has FAR too many major problems for me to believe that you, BUNGIE, would ever willingly release a game this... well, this shitty. Excuse my language, but its true. I was Estatic when i found out Destiny would be released on ps3, and of course i pre-ordered the game ASAP. I was promised an MMORPGFPS, yet i recieved an Advanced Warfare reskin with a couple of (Possibly?) different AI scripts. I was promised there would be a story whose quality would rival that of the Lord of the Rings series. i was promised gameplay that would put the glorious Borderlands series to shame. I was promised an MMO so big it would end all other MMO's. Yet i have yet to recieve NOTHING of the sort. like i said, a shitty Advanced Warfare reskin. Instead of an expansive world filled with monsters, missions, and loot i find that none of these exist. As a matter of fact, the story is NONEXISTENT. SERIOUSLY, i have yet to find anything resembling a decent story, let alone one to rival Lord of the Rings. The closest thing i can find to a decent story is the goddam TUTORIAL. Honestly, the tutorial is like the pest part of this game, because its the only part of the game that you can SKIP. you can't even skip the painfully cut-and-paste cinimatics placed at near-random places in the laughable rag that is called a story in this game. the beginning was okay, but after the first couple of missions you find that one mission feels almost exactly the same as the next: go to planet, drive to building/ruins, go into building to search for something, kill a couple of weak baddies. Find a locked door,, use the glorified door-opener (AKA Ghost AKA OHGODDINLAGEWHY???!!!), kill off a couple waves of enemies. Rinse and repeat until you reach a "boss". in reality, a boss in Destiny is just a slightly larger-than-normal enemy that is expanded and then slightly retextured(either via a recolouring or adding something like a few pipes or tubes, or a combination of both. Then, there's the diologue, that horrible, horrible diologue. Seriously, the best voice acting in the game was probably the Stranger(who is coincidentally the most interesting character. Why? because she's the ONLY CHARACTER WHO HAS ANY SORT OF BACKSTORY IN-GAME!!!), who you (i.e. Bungie) have NEVER EXPANDED UPON!!! Finally, there's the Grimoire system. seriously, guys? thats your lore system? Honestly, guys, what happened to you? i remember Bungie as the developer gods who brought me Halo 2 and the rest of the franchise. You, more than any other company or design team, were my idols. The Bungie i knew and loved would have never, NEVER released the game like this. Even characters in Halo:Wars had more lore and backstory than all the characters in this game COMBINED. I apologize, as this has devolved into a rant and a game comparison, and that is not what i intended to do when i decided to write to you. I just don't believe that this is the best you can do, guys. i realize that you probably get no end of complaints about the game, and god knows how many comparisons between Halo and Destiny, but that doesn't mean you can just write off our complaints because there's people whining about how its not like Halo. Honestly, i worshiped the series, but everything needs to end.i still can't believe CoD managed to survive this long. Anyway, i really want you to try harder on this game. Release missions that fix the glaring holes in the story, give the thing a decent ending while you're at it-Make it free though, don't you dare try and pull an Activision by makeing that the whole 2nd DLC. Outside of the story and the painful cutscenes, the biggest problem is your damn CONNECTIVITY ISSUES. Hey, how about instead of recycling Activision's old shitty Call of Duty servers, you should try re-using your old halo servers. Or better yet, get NEW ones? Which brings me to the cause of my whining: the connectivity.Really, i know there isn't a chance in hell you guys actually believe you're addressing these issues your consumers are having in regards to your connectivity. And don't say its because of the NAT type. Its not, i can go play literally ANY other online game (outside of MAYBE CoD) and my NAT don't mean jack. NAT isn't the issue here, its YOUR end that is the problem here. This issue wasn't here until a couple MONTHS after release, and there were virtually NONE in the beta, which ran a million time better than the retail version. I have been playing Destiny since the beta, and i know what i'm talking about here: there wasn't a single goddam thing wrong with the connection during the beta, and that didn't change very much upon the release of the full game. Again, this only started a couple MONTHS after release. your error codes all lead to the same links, and the same supposed "solutions". all you tell us to do is make sure these ports are unblocked and that these other ports are forwarded. Well, guess what? i have NEVER, in all my 14 years of gaming (i've been playing video games since i was 3, and i'm 17 now.) EVER encountered a game that required me to alter the settings on my router (just a heads up, my router is set to the lowest possible security settings outside of none), let alone FORWARD GODDAMN PORTS!!!. really guys, really? Here's my ultimatum: you have until the release of the 2nd DLC to fix these problems or i'm gonna get my damn money back- ALL of it (excluding the money used for the purchase of downloadable content, which is non-refundable). If you were anybody else but Bungie, i would've already got my refund, but i am giving you this one last chance to redeem yourself out of my respect that i hold for you and what you have achieved in the past. However, there's not much you can do to fix this one fact: Bungie, the REAL Bungie, the Bungie that i knew and loved as a child. The Bungie who i aspired to be a part of. That Bungie is dead to me. and if the forums are any indication, many other followers as well. Thank you for your time, Bungie (or is it really Activision now?). Have a good not-life.
