I recently purchased Diablo 3 on console (take that, PC Master race!) and I've been hooked, due in no small part to the loot system. You get enough good loot and at a decent pace to keep you playing. You're excited to get that new piece of gear, because the game actually delivers. Unlike Density where no matter how much you believe in and pray to RNGsus, He frequently disappoints.
I've even donated to the official church, yet I'm still condemned to eternal damnation and loot stagnation.

The density of what exactly?

Diablo at launch had a horrible loot system, far worse than destiny

Edited by Makellos: 2/17/2015 3:14:24 PMSure the loot is better... but click, click, click, 1, 2, 1,1, 3,4,1,2,2 is pretty much crap as far as engaging gameplay goes. Destiny actually has good core mechanics, and feels well done. No really engaging endgame, for diablo, its simply my gear allows me to stand here for unlimited amount of time while playing this difficulty so I bump it a bit and im stuck here until another upgrade.

Edited by Kovathos: 2/17/2015 3:11:45 PMWell your talking about a company that has 3 games in the series to get loot right. As well wow, and other games. As well as countless examples since Diablo 2 and wow release to borrow ideas from. Of course their loot is better than destiny's loot system. Destiny isn't exactly designed so heavily around loot like Diablo is. Plus the games are both designed and played differently. There are also fewer examples of fps type games that have loot as the focus like that. Borderlands is pretty much the only one but there's been a few others over the years that have done it to different degrees. Tabula rasa and neocron are a few. Essentially your comparing apples to oranges. Still fruit, just not the same kind of fruit. Diablo 3 was pretty rough with the looting system and auction house before it was removed though.

Edited by LokiShinigami: 2/17/2015 3:10:10 PMNot when it first launched on PC, the loot system was worse than Destiny's. You guys that got it for console got the brand new loot 2.0 system, pc had to wait until the frigging expansion before we got it. Granted, we had the auction house, where any legendary was worth 250 BILLION gold. The struggle you never knew . . . RIP Auction House

I love Diablo 3, I'm currently working on a lvl 61 crusader.
-
Just wait till you get a full legendary set of armor. I've almost got the marauders set for my demon hunter and firebird set for my wizard
-
Well who cares about density? I care about destiny though.
-
I have all destiny loot
-
Yeah but D3 has so much more loot compared to the handful of exotics that Destiny has. D3 is almost endless.
-
I get too much loot in destiny
-
Diablo does have a 100,000,000x better loot system but blizzard has had over 15 years to develop their loot system, not to mention destiny having next to no content. There are probably as many legendary Diablo rings as there are exotic items in Destiny.

play diablo if you prefer the loot bro

Density is a bit too heavy for my tastes as well. What a delightfully helpful and insightful contribution you've made to the common good, sir. Quite the dapper gentleman, aren't you?
-
of course it does, they have evolved the loot system now to the point that if you havent recieved a legendary within a certain amount of play time the game will just give you one. The longer you play the higher the drop rate goes up, then resets after you got your loot.
-
Ima go ahead and guess you don't have a lot of good gears/exotics....? Because Diablo is broken with the weapon modding you can do! All characters, all mods, I just run through the game like a Hunter with Don't Touch Me's! Then I got into Destiny and you can't do any of that, yes it's all luck to get good drops, so therefore I'm fortunate...all lvl 32's have everything except Nechrochasm and Red Death.

Density sounds like a good game.
-
You're having so much fun on Diablo 3 you came to Destiny forums to talk about it? Oh how cool...
-
Density already came out?
