1. Lions cannot travel through space
2. The sun is never turned off, and there is no way to turn a star "off"
3. There would be no way for lions to attack the sun
4. If the lions got anywhere near the sun, the would be beyond melted alive
5. If the lions somehow "defeated" the sun then they would all get cancer and die from the radiation the sun gives off, hence the sun would always win...

But that's implying the lions make the first move. How would the sun even dream of attacking them? It just sits there. The lions can bide their time producing offspring over the generations, and leave when humans eventually fly off to some distant planet. Then when the sun dies, the lions win.

Alright, how about this. It's turning dark in just a few hours from now, so I'll go outside and take a picture of the sky to show you that the sun isn't there and that it's turned off. That should help you see the logic behind this argument.
