Let's say a white guy only wants to be around white people, but does not hate other races. Is he racist?
Let's say a black guy only wants to be around black people, but does not hate other races. Is he racist?

No but unfortunately that kind of stuff leads to racism down the line.
like a long, long way down the line.
Will, of he doesn't stereotype them no, if he does stereotypes of others he's racist,
unless he's black
If the other races were having riots at the moment no, but if it was about them saying something offensive to everyone and threatening to kill them, yes

Either way racist

Edited by Cultmeister: 2/14/2015 10:25:23 AMI think the question that needs to be asked is 'why do they not want to be around the other?' Like, if the reason the white guy doesn't want to be around black people is because he thinks they are an inferior type of person then that's racist. If he just finds that since he's never really been around non-white people before so he feels uncomfortable having to interact with them, that's not racist; that's just having a sheltered upbringing.

A white man avoiding people of color is a form of prejudice, and since white men benefit from immense privilege, it can be considered racism. Since people of color are a disadvantaged class, avoiding white males would not be considered racist.

Edited by SomeGuy: 2/14/2015 10:06:37 AMNo because apparently only whites can ever be racist, i never hear anyone complaining about a black person being racist to a white person for seemingly some thing that a white person could say to a black person and be called racist. Double standards.

I hate stupid ppl I might be racist
-
Prejudice? Yes. Racist? No.
-
-
You would have to hate other races to be racist
-
Nah, there are cultural differences in some parts of the country.
-
It's only racist if a white person does it. /s Liberals. Not even once.
-

Not in the slightest. I'd prefer a straight kid over a gay kid, but wouldn't freak out over a gay kid. It's just more relatable. Preferences.
-
Well, I guess it depends on their reasoning. It seems like a bit more than simply preference to want to be around only your race.
