Stop using guns to shoot ATHEON!!
Is it just me, or recently are all these christmas noobs posting on lfg as 30/31s and turning VoG HM into a shit fest.
I mean come on everyone. It is called a "SUPER". Your most powerful move. You ever wonder why your super charges so fast in the shield? Because bungie wanted you to use them. If everyone used their super. Atheon goes down IN 10 SECONDS. Ghorn is ok to use, if you are a defender. And if you have a double gernade perk. Use those first.
I swear these new guys. Thinking you need blackhammer. We did that shit for months with out it!
But I digress. Stop using your guns during times vengence. Supers only

Shoot a captain with a one sniper bullet. Does he die? No. Use one super on same captain. He dies. Why? Because the super is stronger. Now Time's Vengence multiples total damage out put. So why not multiple your strongest attack. You all just need to think about it and stop being so stupid.

Edit 5: Final edit. Everyone, accept it. This method is the best. All your icebreaker and blackhammer pale in comparison. SUPERS ARE THE BEST WAY TO KILL HIM.

5 breakers or hammers drop him in 2 times vengeance if you can do it faster than that with supers I'd be interested to see that . Unless every person was using gunslinger that'd be a hard group to assemble

If everyone has black hammer and no one uses grenades or rockets. The chain of 18k per shot no reloads means he dies real fast.

Since I'm literally always holding the relic I use vex, ldr/black hammer and some machine gun.

Of the six possible supers only two have a ranged attack. And one of those is minimal on range and control- nova bomb. So what I hear you saying is that we should all just be hunters, and equip gunslinger. Brilliant! Why didn't I think of that.

Yeah no, this is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. My group downs him either first run or second, every time. Nobody uses their super, it's s waste of time while you could actually be dpsing.

You have no idea what you are talking about, snipers are best against Atheon because of the damage boost! The damage boost does nothing for your super and grenades. Therefore if you have a half decent sniper use it and Atheon will die much quicker.

1 ReplyIf you want atheon dead quick, just have a few teammates equip black hammer. I was in a hard mode game earlier using ice breaker, and someone asked me to use black hammer instead. Land 3 shots on atheon over and over, and you have an infinite damage loop. Our team dropped atheon in one relic run...xD Black Hammer = atheons worst enemy
