Stop using guns to shoot ATHEON!!
Is it just me, or recently are all these christmas noobs posting on lfg as 30/31s and turning VoG HM into a shit fest.
I mean come on everyone. It is called a "SUPER". Your most powerful move. You ever wonder why your super charges so fast in the shield? Because bungie wanted you to use them. If everyone used their super. Atheon goes down IN 10 SECONDS. Ghorn is ok to use, if you are a defender. And if you have a double gernade perk. Use those first.
I swear these new guys. Thinking you need blackhammer. We did that shit for months with out it!
But I digress. Stop using your guns during times vengence. Supers only

Shoot a captain with a one sniper bullet. Does he die? No. Use one super on same captain. He dies. Why? Because the super is stronger. Now Time's Vengence multiples total damage out put. So why not multiple your strongest attack. You all just need to think about it and stop being so stupid.
Edit 4: Seriously everyone? Still don't believe me, well fine. Here, I recorded my fire team and I using supers only. Here the video. THIS IS PROOF IT WORKS.

Edit 5: Final edit. Everyone, accept it. This method is the best. All your icebreaker and blackhammer pale in comparison. SUPERS ARE THE BEST WAY TO KILL HIM.

Since you said " stop using guns to shoot Atheon" Saying that you can Gjorn as a defender, just makes your title of this forum pointless lol. In my personal opinion I would rather use both my super and my weapons. Pretarion foil + nova bomb (without damage radius for that fight) does it well.

Supers? A team with ice breakers can take out Atheon in one to two rounds. Supers take way too much time

Warlocks can't super in the Sheild. Nova bomb will just blow up in your face and grenades just cause Atheon to move which makes it harder to hit his crit. It is 100% better to just shoot him with your heavys and secondaries.

I still can't believe the people on the Internets. Guys just chill and take it like a grain of salt. He is just stating his opinion( which is probably the fun way) You don't have to listen to him but you don't have to be so harsh, just keep doing what you do. And maybe maybe, try new things.

5 RepliesDumbass. Supers don't receive the damage buff from Time's Vengeance. Use a goddamn Ice Breaker or Black Hammer and see how much faster he goes down. If you think your way is better, show me the video evidence of Atheon going down in ten seconds.

6 RepliesActually this is a legit argument...if you are a hunter with golden gun. Otherwise supers are pretty useless. Blade dancer wouldn't make sense for him. You can't void walker or throw infinite grenades with radiance because he won't stand still if you throw that stuff at him. Titans have bubbles or ground pounds. If you have golden gun then yeah use it, but otherwise your super is not necessarily a super during that fight. And you don't use any on Crota fight either really now now that I think bout it, minus the hallowed Knights in crystal room for orbs or boomer bubble.

Here is your reason, super does not do a critical shot and cannot be fired as rapidly as a super can, the real test is, how many sniper shots can you get off before a super can reset and be used again? I would bet the damage of the sniper would be more.

My GG super only does 4000 per shot. While black hammer is doing 16000 you do the math

I hope you realize how stupid you made yourself look. You can join 100 raid groups on the forums and not one group will ask you to use supers instead of weapons. You can't kill atheon on hard in one teleport using only supers either. Your comparing supers against captians which is irrelevant to atheon

Haha wow, the best way is 5 people with ghorn if you don't have a party full of horns the next best is to use snipers and heavy machine guns, people that use rockets and grenades and supers are making him move while the rest of the team are being screwed because he moves, hard mode atheon can be take down in 2 portal passes with snipers and heavy machine guns anything other than those weapons is only hurting the rest of the team

Why would you use a super!? The only supers you can use on atheon are golden gun and nova bomb! I am not sure about nova bomb but my UN-maxed icebreaker does 3× the damage with each shot!

Blackhammer/icebreaker + weapons of light. It was ice breaker before black hammer before you cry and say what about pre dlc. It's not hard to hit criticals. This whole use your super nonsense sheesh. Golden gun - oracles Bubbles for wep boosts. And why would you novabomb it will only force him to move about. Which in turn stops people doing massive critical damage. Clearly a troll.
