RNG is too neutral of a term for the reward system. I think it should be renamed the broke-dick system. It's broken and it still tries to screw us with it. Relentlessly and without ceasing. I feel like I should press charges against it...

SLS - Shit loot system YNG - you'll never get ULS - unworthy loot system (Specifically to 0.08 k/d crucible players getting exotics!!!!) FTP - F**K the players

My complaint is that it's the same item almost every time. I think I've received the Bloodpact Shader from the strike playlist 8 or 9 times. I'm not expecting a legendary or exotic more often, I just want to see variety. The purpose of something being random is that it should create variety. Same thing with Crota's end. I shouldn't play the lamps section of the raid 6 weeks in a row and get the gauntlets 6 times in a row (Not an overestimation/exageration). The first time I completed the raid, I got the cloak, boots and gauntlets. When I play with newer characters, they receive a little more variety when running raids, strikes, nightfall/weekly strikes, etc. When I play with my first character that I've had since the game came out the reward system is stagnant. I just feel like the loot system is broken, and looking at the forums a good portion of the community feels the same way.

Exactly, the generation of random numbers is too important to be left to chance

I have said all along the devs keep saying 'random' but is it weighted random? All inclusive random? Random based? I would bet everything my toon has that the system has some randomness to it (like every loot system) but its not entirely random, nor is it inclusive. Its more like random like: random 100 1-80 = nothing 81-95 = green 96-98 = blue 99-99.9 purple 100 exotic And then the items weighted as to whats possible as well. Its clearly not random 6 and get what you get, so you already know its weighted, its how badly they weighted it against the players that should piss people off, not the randomness. And the statistics of xur has been calculated, and the chances of his inventory being what it has been, with all things in and equal, is like 10^120 or something crazy like that. Theres a thread here somewhere.

RNG: REWARD ME GHJALLAHORN) ALREADY HAVE THOUGH

If the loot system is random, then is it not an inherently fair system?

i belive it was the NSA that cracked that RNG on computers wasnt in fact random. they then used this knowledge to hack systems that were encrypted w/ RNG one time passcodes.
